@UBERSOY1 It’s really amazing how some “conservatives” balk at the statement due to their commitment of liberal neutrality. Our political order should ultimately follow Christian principles and thereby recognize Christ as King. Why would a conservative Christian object?
@iam_shwa@Jason_Catholic Because the fulfillment of natural ends are good, and intentionally thwarting an act ordered towards its purpose so it does not attain it makes it defective and therefore bad.
@PatrickDeneen Well deserved. “Why Liberalism Failed” was *the* reason I went through a much-needed paradigm shift in the way I thought about politics. Thank you for your work!
According to @JeremyDBoreing, Gen Z is just imagining the economic woes they live every day and see getting worse; they're actually in some of the best times ever!
And these guys have the gall to blame "muh fatherlessness" and "muh scapegoating" for the New Christian Right.
@FeserEdward@michaeljknowles@Pontifex In my view, this highlights the reason why American politics feels so frustrating. The mainstream right tends to emphasize subsidiary without solidarity, and the left does the converse. And because each side leaves one out, they ultimately have neither.
I’ve defended Tucker a number of times recently, but his glazing of Islam recently is getting tiresome. Look, it’s very reasonable to be critical of Israel, but it does not mean we need to replace our boomer dispensationalist views of Judaism with Islam.
Theologian JD Hall to Tucker Carlson:
The Muslim rulers didn't tax churches during the Ottoman period. They were very kind to Christians.
As a matter of fact, they took care of our holy sites. Islamic authorities rebuilt the Church of the Holy Sepulchre three different times over the centuries.
They had a law protecting Christian pilgrims on their journey. Nobody messed with the pilgrims.
