A retro-burning at the Perilune was commanded from the Mission Operations Complex (MOX), ISTRAC, Bengaluru.

The next operation - reduction of orbit – is scheduled for Aug 6, 2023, around 23:00 Hrs. IST.

The importance of teachers in the Education ecosystem!

सब्रह्मचारिभ्यः पादं पादं कालक्रमेण च ॥

One fourth learning happens from teachers, one fourth by student's own intelligence. One fourth is learnt with peers and rest one fourth comes by over passing of time.

I don't think there is a better discription of education process anywhere else.

Though only one fourth is attributed to the teacher, it happens to be the crucial one fourth.

A teacher identifies difficulty pattern of a student as well as learning strengths and suggests specific course corrections. A teacher also "holds" the student in their difficulty stages and sees them through the storm.
Helping with minor niggles immediately so that flow of study is not interrupted is THE crucial function of a teacher.

Like an infant and its monther, nothing nutritional can reach a student if teacher is bypassed.
No formula milk can replace a mother breastfeeding her baby with love and care.

All of current educational effort, funded by mindless venture capitalists is happening in ed-tech.
Every attempt is being made to "eliminate" teacher. This moronic model of education believes that education is transfer of information and practice of skills.

Is it any wonder that these tabs and websites are not delivering anything real at all!

Even peer groups of learners need support and supervision inputs from teachers to function optimally.

Unless teachers are enriched, supported and paid well for their work, education will not transform.

"child centricism" is biggest flaw in current thinking. Child can not grow in a vacuum. Holding by teachers is crucial for growth.

There is NO adult who has achieved something in life and does not attribute it to a teacher in their early days.

Everyone eventually becomes a teacher. And they can't do it well without experience of being taught meaningfully by a teacher.

Like all modern Indian phoniness, we call teachers "guru" and say that they are equivalent to Gods but in reality we demean them and try to squeeze them out of education. This two faced bahaviour about everything of value in human interaction (mother, teacher, healer) has become rule of modern Indian life.

There is no normal life possible on this path. No glory awaits us at the end of this road.

Friends and family of Indian climber Anurag Maloo write to External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar for help in rescuing him.

Anurag Maloo went missing below the Camp III of the world's tenth-highest peak Mt Annapurna in Nepal after he fell into a crevasse while returning from Camp IV yesterday afternoon.

According to Mingma Sherpa, Chairman at Seven Summit Treks, Anurag Maloo, 34, from Kishangargh of Rajasthan, India, went missing after he fell down from around 6,000m while descending from Camp III. @MEAIndia @PM_nepal_ @MofaNepal @IndiaInNepal @PMOIndia @HMOIndia
