At 45, Renu Hans did something she could not complete 22 years ago, she passed Class 10 with an impressive 82%.

Renu is a Kashmiri Pandit woman from Jammu who is deaf and non-speaking. She had appeared for her Class 10 exam before her marriage but could not clear it. After that, life moved on and her education was left behind.

But the dream never really died.

Years later, her son Naman Koul, a Class 12 Science student, encouraged his mother to give her education another chance. And this time, he became her teacher.

He would teach her in the evenings, help her with her doubts and prepare her for the exams while also managing his own studies.

After 22 years, Renu finally sat for the Class 10 board exam again. Now that the results are out, she has scored 82%.
