BREAKING: SpaceX, $SPCX, announces a new partnership with Nvidia, $NVDA, to design its Starmind AI-1 payload, bringing data center-class compute into orbit.
The partnership will use Nvidia’s Rubin GPUs and Vera CPUs, while increasing SpaceX’s peak satellite computing capacity to 250 kW.
@davidasinclair Not at all simple to execute and sustain for life! Look at how many struggle with maintaining healthy diets, as just one example. Also, someone suffering from a drinking problem doesn’t find it simple to moderate alcohol use. And so on.
AI forecasting is now approximately superhuman. Today, FutureSearch is exiting our public beta and launching to everyone.
FutureSearch is the original AI forecasting company, started in August 2023. We’re currently #1 of 194 in the most competitive AI forecasting tournament, and we score above the #3 and #2 human forecasters in the premier mixed human-bot tournaments. We’re beating the crowd on Kalshi with a pure forecasting strategy, all our forecasts and trades there are public.
Thousands of people used the beta and ran >10k high-effort forecasts. Ask it anything about the future! We now support decision forecasts too: “If I do X, will I achieve this outcome?”
This video shows the part we’re proudest of: world modeling. Forecasts draw on a persistent latent representation of the future, and we’ve shown it improves accuracy. The more your forecast on a domain you care about, the higher accuracy you should expect.
It’s free to try. https://t.co/e0JKSLzxVZ
@foundmyfitness In the ancestral environment, people didn’t even have clocks. They ate whenever they were lucky enough to obtain food. Thus, I am skeptical that it is, directly, the meal timing shift that is responsible for the problems. It is probably one of the confounds you mentioned instead.
An internal version of our next major model produced 10 new results on long-standing open problems in mathematics and theoretical computer science, using roughly $2,000 worth of tokens at GPT-5.6 Sol API rates.
The AI Singularity
The argument goes like this:
1. Humans build an AGI.
2. The AGI becomes good at AI research.
3. It designs a smarter AI.
4. That smarter AI designs an even smarter AI.
5. The cycle repeats faster and faster.
Looking at the results and capabilities from the various labs over the past few weeks I would say we are firmly in this loop now.
The next 18months will be wild.
Recursive self improvement will dramatically increase capability very quickly from here.
Marginal costs of all models will go to ~$0.
@WWE@BrockLesnar@Obaofwwe Brock should’ve won. You still could’ve made Oba Femi look amazing in defeat. But Oba hasn’t been around long enough to be able to defeat the (arguably) most dangerous WWE superstar of all time.
@DaveShapi I’m not sure if this is true. I feel like hot feminine women and sexy scenes are less prominent in mainstream normie films & television. That may be because people can see them online easily + feminist pressures. Just speculation.
@WrestlePurists Lesner should’ve won HIAC. Oba could’ve still looked highly impressive in defeat. But I think a wrestler needs to be around for a few years before they can dethrone a legitimate legend like Brock Lesner.

@kevinroose Unlike math, one needs to interact with the physical world to make advances in physics, chemistry, psychology, sociology, etc. Thus, the AI will need to be capable of collecting novel data, running experiments, etc. Even if it can, empiricism is a big speed bump.
Everyone in the world will soon be able to use the model that made these breakthroughs for every problem they face in life, no matter how mundane, at a cost that will fall dramatically in a matter of months. I still struggle to get my head around this fact.
@ChrisWillx That’s a little bit surprising. 1. It would be easier to date a man with a cat versus a man with a dog. When you have a dog, you always have to make sure to be home on time to put the dog out. 2. Also, caring for a cat shows he has some level of paternal instinct.
The AI math proofs are impressive. But also probably among the hardest things for normies to appreciate. Personally, I think the AI labs underweight the value of putting bandwidth into achieving results that impress normies as opposed to evals/people within the peer group.
New study using AI to analyze content of thousands of texts over time (a method which could revolutionize intellectual history, and which I suspect we'll see more of) shows that that between 1000 and 1920, cultural resistance to new ideas fell by half, which appears to have given a huge boost to economic productivity.
