You can't solve real-world physical tasks through autoregressive sampling alone. The physical world is entirely unforgiving to hallucination or approximate pattern matching. If we want actual autonomous robotics we have to engineer causality and discrete reasoning back into the loop.
Biwei and the team at Aether AI is doing exactly the kind of foundational, non-consensus work the field actually needs right now.
What if Spotlight actually understood the meaning inside your files?
DigUp is an open-source macOS menu bar app powered by EmbeddingGemma 2 that brings 100% local, multimodal semantic search to your Mac.
Instead of searching for file names, you can use natural language to:
📸 Find specific scenes in your photos
⏳ Jump to the exact timestamp in audio or video
💻 Search through your codebase by intent
Everything runs locally in a single vector space.
Announcing the beta release of the Pi API. We’ve partnered with companies across diverse industries to adapt our models to their robots and applications, from harvesting strawberries to assembling servers. Now we’re opening access to more teams.
Gemini 4 Argon is a step change and will have massive impact on robotics. We have published a developer blog to show various ways in which Argon accelerates robotics.

@DavidHHMack@Ultraroboticsco@hiFramework Makes sense. NixOS feels like a good fit for reliable, and reproducible deployments. Roughly what split are you seeing between edge and cloud right now?
Most robot data is just a trajectory with someone saying it worked. That doesn't survive a different gripper, a different camera, or a different idea of what "done" means. So pooling it across robots is kinda fake.
Building a robotic flywheel is actually insanely hard because of those three points.
1. Robots come in very heterogeneous forms
2. Robots have very different hardware (cameras, actuators, etc.)
3. It's actually very hard to verify if a task was accomplished successfully
Without that last one, more deployed robots don't automatically give you data you can retrain on.
