I have significant respect for Dr. Nettles, but this was incredibly sloppy. E.g: “None can be compelled by national laws nor by political enforcement to be a Christian.”
Benefit of the doubt says this is less strawmanning, more a historian tilting at political philosophy windmills outside of his expertise.
@PhilipDBunn@PerfInjust “Christian childrearing is a Christianized form of childrearing or, put differently, a species of childrearing.”
@PhilipDBunn: “This is a shift away from Christ and toward childrearing!”
@DirtyThomist@NoWarChristian In my experience, a lot of Presbytrians gleefully cheer on theological changes from credobaptism way too quickly then are surprised to find theological hobbyists abounding.
@DividendGrowth Didn’t know about the conversion - does the conversion initiate a taxable event though (I believe they’re taxed at regular income levels?)
