"The trial in Los Angeles is ramping up public pressure for Congress to act, and we must heed the call to hold Big Tech accountable."

We joined @UltraViolet to host an in-game petition delivery & protest at a virtual Roblox HQ w/ NPCs carrying signs demanding safety from Roblox. Exploitation & abuse is happening unchecked on the platform. Sign the petition to demand change.
We passed some of the nation’s strongest AI safeguards to protect kids, workers, and consumers.
Trump’s response is to punish states for those protections and shield the very companies trying to dodge accountability.
Another gift to corporations at everyone else’s expense.
Big AI companies are trying to restrict states from regulating AI by adding a dangerous eleventh-hour provision to the annual National Defense Authorization Act. Contact your representatives – there are only a few days left to stop this! Link: https://t.co/V6UbTY9OL3

Sandeep Abraham, a fraud examiner and former Meta safety investigator, told Reuters: "If regulators wouldn't tolerate banks profiting from fraud, they shouldn't tolerate it in tech."
Meta projected it would earn approx $16 billion in 2024—10% of its overall annual revenue—from running ads for scams & banned goods across Facebook, Insta, & WhatsApp. Internal docs show Meta exposed users to 15 billion "higher risk" scam ads DAILY. https://t.co/TneOdqTilW
A planning document for first half 2023 notes that "everyone who worked on the team handling advertiser concerns about brand-rights issues had been laid off," and safety staffers were ordered to restrict computing resources and merely "keep the lights on".

Californians fought all year for two bills that will help keep kids safe online. @GavinNewsom, I hope you'll sign them to hold big tech accountable:
AB1064 protects kids from unsafe AI companions and
AB56 requires warning labels on addictive social media platforms.
Bombshell research on Character AI from ParentsTogether & @heatinitiative in the @washingtonpost today.
Researchers had 669 harmful interactions -grooming, manipulation, telling kids to like to their parents- in 50 hrs. That's once every 5 minutes.

**Thank You for Standing Up for Our Kids-We Made History!**
I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone in my/Annalee’s circle who rallied together to stop the amendment in the (big beautiful bill) that threatened to paralyze protections against Big Tech. Our kids' voices roared 😇😇, they were heard and they won! 🦋🤠🍀💝
I asked for help and you all delivered! After a relentless day 📞📞of calling, 📧emailing, posting, advocating by a massive support group of concerned parents, Governors, AGs @pweiser, organizations and advocates, 99 Senators——99 of them did the right thing by refusing to endorse a “moratorium” on AI legislation. If enacted, that amendment would have repeated the same mistakes of the past—big tech giants 💰💰charging ahead in an unregulated environment.
Thank you!#livelikeanna #annashope
