@Scholars_Stage How do you evaluate Taiwanese resilience? Would society be willing to make sacrifices and maintain cohesion? Would the government apparatus be smart and decisive?
@JamesDJBrown To be honest, Chinese Foreign Ministry has been pushing this narrative for decades. It seems that since China and Russia are quasi-allies now, the Russian MoF and propaganda apparatus has joined them in.
@PaulHuangReport@TPP_Taiwan Thanks for explaining. How come such an important question still remains in a legal gray area? One would think it's quite a national security issue to allow so many people to maintain both ROC and PRC passports.
@Scholars_Stage Do you know if the drive to annex Greenland, and even maybe Canada, comes from Trump himself or from other officials (i.e. Vance or Miller)?
@Scholars_Stage If Lizzi refers to this article, it's just a collection of Xi's old remarks about the domestic demand importance, but includes zero calls to action or specific suggestions. It looks like Xi is just paying the lip service to the problem.

@Scholars_Stage Your insights about China and American politics are one of the main reasons why I visit this website. If you leave X, hope there will be some other platform to follow you.
@Scholars_Stage 忧患意识 is more like risk consciousness. It does not imply something as strong as calamity. Better translation would be to not give in to trumph or to remain cautious.
@ChristopherJM@KathrinHille The company also makes RC toys and dental equipment. They have business interests in China - a subsidiary and income/sales. I am also quite sceptical it's possible to make a drone without Chinese inputs, so any claims of 100% Made in Taiwan ring hollow.
@Scholars_Stage Have you read the latest report from Howard Wang about the PLA's lessons from the Russian war against Ukraine? They may now think that attritional war could allow them overcoming the US technological advances.
@JacobShap Regardless of personal views of Trump, it is worrying that EU (mostly GER, I guess) is overreacting to US actions & sometimes valid criticism, and ignoring China's economic threat. Both interests and values should keep us closer to Washington.
@DesmondShum Recent purges and investigation rumours (i.e. He Weidong) involve officials who could be considered Xi's people. Is China/CCP approaching something like the Great Terror minus the show trials and executions?
@Lingling_Wei How reliable is such info? How sceptical should we be every time there are rumours about sensitive and secret info from inside the system?
@Scholars_Stage As an atlanticist European, I hope this is a transitional period. There will be volatility in the relationship for now, but both sides should eventually find the right balance and remain close partners. More self-reliant (but not too strong and united) EUR is in the US interest.
