I truly can't understand Trump's decision to attack Iran in the first place. Maybe the intelligence was real and Iran was close to getting a nuclear weapon, but wouldn't Israel be the one most alarmed by that? Why did the U.S. have to step in and fight directly on Israel's behalf? Proxy warfare was an option too, wasn't it? And without ground troops, how could we possibly expect to defeat a regional power so easily?
Now oil prices are high and the midterms look shaky, so the administration is rushing into a deal with Russia, hoping to bring diesel prices down. Isn't that dragging America's reputation and its standing as a world leader through the mud? How can they be so shortsighted?
I strongly dislike the Democratic Party's domestic policies, so I definitely won't vote for the Democrats as they are now. But this time I really can't bring myself to vote Republican either. I may just sit this one out. It's an incredibly hard choice.
