Becky Hammon on why the Knicks can’t win a championship:
“They don't have a dude... you got to have a 1A dude."
Perkins: "They do have that dude…Jalen Brunson."
Hammon: "He too small. If your best player is small, you're not winning."
You don’t know how much I love this team and New Yorkers love this team.
We feel sick and defeated when they lose
Joyous, high and thankful when they win
Knick 2026
Shit, turned 27 this year. Lots of wild shit this year, bought a place, made huge headwinds in personal projects, and just felt like a productive but enjoyable year. But fuck I feel old now at 27. Let's make this the best year possible, 27 in 2027
The NBA, as is customary, will today review Victor Wembanyama’s first-quarter foul on Jalen Brunson to determine whether any additional penalties (such as a retroactive flagrant foul) are assessed.
Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama should be retroactively assessed flagrant 1 today for throwing Jalen Brunson to court
It’s clear as day, and there’s recent precedent — Mason Plumlee was given one retroactively in WCF for something less egregious
If NBA does nothing here, it’s a joke
Well everyone, for all the people trying to push their picks on Twitter after building a generic Statcast MLB baseball model using Claude and expecting to beat the books this year... here are a couple things I think everyone should know that are just not possible:
• Models that wildly differ from market consensus
• Models that use small sample sizes and are inherently black-box in nature. That’s a recipe for disaster (i.e., the capper can’t explain it)
• Models where there’s a 50% chance or greater of a player hitting a home run. You rarely see -100 or shorter odds on home runs in the books, and there’s a reason for that.
If you really think you have an edge, talk to an actual data scientist like myself (or any of the many others out there) to actually build this the right way. I don’t want to discount the fact that many bottom-up strategies are untapped and don’t exist yet, but I think it’s naive to believe Claude is gonna help you when you can’t read, understand any of the code, or apply genuine statistical rigor to your thoughts.
