New results from @jdpritchard3 and team demonstrating high fidelity gates and non-destructive readout on large arrays working in partnership with @M2Lasers https://t.co/kw9m6pHCXV
We're excited to have one final Quantum Science Seminar for the year, today (Thursday 8th December) at 17:00 CET, where Robert Berger (Marburg) will discuss "Relativistic effects and their role in chirality and fundamental physics". Join us live on YouTube https://t.co/8JEVzaxRjz
BREAKING NEWS:
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2022 #NobelPrize in Physics to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger.
We have an open PhD position in our research group, in open quantum systems and quantum algorithms. Please see here: https://t.co/GHWb0p0uvm for more information on our group and the open position, and please pass this on to anyone who might be interested in applying.
@PedramRoushan Thanks for your hospitality, Pedram! It was really cool to visit and discuss science with you and your colleagues :-). Nano-Kelvin to milli-kelvin in the science we do is really close these days – much closer in practice than outdoor temperatures in Glasgow & Santa Barbara!
We're excited about tomorrow's Quantum Science Seminar, where Nicole Yunger Halpern (JQI) will talk about Quantum steampunk: Quantum information meets thermodynamics. Join us live on YouTube at 17:00 CEST, Thursday 1st September! https://t.co/8JEVzaggs1
@PaulSecular @arxiv Thanks for pointing it out! I suspect that an update in the abstract formatting for arXiv has combined with a minor typo rather than a hack. It seems we had "... quantum mechanics. In this ..." without a space after the full stop, so it now thinks it was a URL.
@wnlckwd @PhysicsSteve I typically use "we" for papers and most grant proposals. One place where I would suggest using "I" is for individual fellowship applications: it can give a stronger impression of your personal connection to the work & is easier when stating the impact on your career.
What's the state of the art and future perspective of quantum simulation, and how do we gain practical quantum advantages? Thoughts and answers from @quantum_daley@ibloch et al. here in this new perspective article recently published in @Nature

Thanks to all my coauthors who helped write this Nature Perspective on achieving quantum advantage using analog quantum simulation and gate model quantum computer. https://t.co/TdegKoGqYT
