I'm so thrilled to contribute to science and technology demonstrations for the #Ax2 Mission to the International Space Station. Our MIT Skinsuit will be launched this spring. Thank you to @Axiom_Space@DavaExplorer@ExploreSpace_ML & our team for this incredible opportunity!
SCIENCE ON THE MISSION PRESS CONFERENCE, today at 1:30pm CT.
The Axiom Space In-Space Manufacturing & Science Team with their research partners, will highlight the science research, technology demonstrations projects that will occur on the #Ax2 mission. https://t.co/G9ttFqnOq5
Also, it was wonderful to work with our on-site team (from @ILCDover and @SpaceForArtFoun@Astro_Nicole) and chat with conference attendees about our spacesuit work!
Spring Semester Recap 2 - Had lots of fun attending the #MARSConference this March with @DavaExplorer as part of the MIT Demo Support team. Lots of spacesuits and amazing tech demos! (See my thesis project and our team’s spacesuit sleeve demo in the last two photos
Spring Semester Recap 1 - Attended #IEEE Aerospace (Big Sky, MT) in March with some great #MIT friends. 1: Presenting my conference paper
2: Hiking in Big Sky, MT
3: Day trip to Yellowstone National Park
Zero-G Research Highlight! The Gravity Loading Countermeasure Skinsuit: an intra vehicular activity suit for astronauts that has been developed to simulate the loading effects of Earth's gravity.
This year's regularly scheduled flight flew just days after the postponed 2020 flight, on May 23, 2021. This is part of our annual ZERO-G parabolic flight for up to 15 projects and 25 researchers! #ExploreSpace https://t.co/0YZfYgGivz
During the Zero-G Flight, I was wearing my thesis project (the Gravity Loading Countermeasure Skinsuit) and collecting data in the microgravity environment.
Ended the semester with an AMAZING Zero-G flight! Lots of fun and science! Shout out to @allisonpporter for joining me for lots of hours of prep work to run this experiment! And thank you to @ExploreSpace_ML for this incredible opportunity!

What is a parabolic flight? Using changes in altitude in a parabolic flight pattern, the aircraft goes through periods of hyper-gravity (~1.8x normal weight) and ~20 second periods of microgravity/weightlessness while the aircraft is in freefall.
Check out the @MIT Space Policy Compendium to see our team’s space policy recommendations for the @BidenAdministration. It was great to participate in this work, specifically in the Human Explorations and Operations section. Congrats to our whole team for putting this together!
Read the new MIT Space Policy Compendium. Led by @DavaExplorer and co-authored by MIT contributors including @ExploreSpace_ML@ariel_ekblaw and @space_enabled, the report is designed to help inform the Biden Admin's space policy agenda. https://t.co/Fs5fkneWHY
“Leading the legendary Media Lab is a dream for me, and I can’t wait to help write the next chapter of this uniquely creative, impactful, compassionate community.” We’re thrilled to announce that @DavaExplorer will be the new director of the MIT Media Lab! https://t.co/rAOs4KOuv7
Had a great time hosting the HST Women's Paint Night last week with @rachbellisle@aliciaddsouza! A fun, new way to overcome Zoom fatigue and ~virtually~ foster a sense of community 🎨🖌️ #phdchat@mit_hst@MIT_IMES
My roommate @rachbellisle and I always thought we first met in grad school @mit_hst. Turns out we actually unknowingly interacted at the SWE conference 1 year prior in Austin. Mind = blown 🤯 @SWEtalk
What happens when grad students from @MITAeroAstro and the @medialab challenge K–12 students around the world to imagine living on the moon? Explore the winning entries to find out! https://t.co/wMsIUqawBN #ToTheMoonToStay#ThisIsMIT
Grad students from #MITAeroAstro and @medialab challenged K-12 students to imagine a future lunar habitat or village and received more than 100 submissions from all over the world! Congrats to all the winners! 🎉#ToTheMoonToStay#ThisIsMIT https://t.co/4nJzmhBM1d
That's a wrap on our K-12 Challenge! It was great working with the To the Moon to Stay team over the past few months to organize this virtual challenge. The students had so many creative ideas for future lunar habitats, and we had lots of fun reviewing submissions!
Good News-we're all Astronauts on #SpaceshipEarth. Announcing our 'To the Moon to Stay' K-12 Challenge Winners at: https://t.co/BmBoKFKeni Thanks to all 100+ entrants. You might also like Full STEAM Ahead educational resources:https://t.co/8x0m8DtwXV Be excellent to one another!
