This Russian girl, Daria, has lived in Spain since she was 6. She studied and worked all her life there. She speaks Russian poorly and can’t write in Cyrillic, but Spain wants to deport her.

Daria: “Sanchez says you can get residency in Spain if you swim over here, but I’m being deported. My friends ask ‘Why? There war in your country?’

I have worked all my life here and they declined my residency, but they give it out as a gift to everyone else.”

I’m pretty sure she’s a good addition to Spain, given that she is integrated perfectly … she speaks Spanish perfectly and invested money to open a business to contribute to the economy, which she now has to close without properly opening due to the deportation notice.

This is idiotic! The whole immigration policy in the EU is really idiotic.

In most small businesses, the biggest inefficiencies aren’t obvious. They’re hidden in small, repetitive tasks—searching for documents, answering the same questions, rewriting similar emails, or relying on one person who “just knows how things work.”

AI can help with all of that, but only if there’s a system behind it.

If your knowledge is scattered, AI will surface scattered knowledge. If your processes are inconsistent, AI will simply make those inconsistencies happen faster.

For me, the best use of AI isn’t replacing people. It’s removing friction so people can spend less time searching for information and more time solving real problems.

Small businesses actually have an advantage here. They’re still flexible enough to build good habits before complexity sets in.

Don’t start with AI.

Start with better processes, better documentation, and better knowledge sharing.

That’s what makes AI valuable in the first place.

Ich laufe nachts durch einen Stadtpark in Polen. Junge Frauen kommen mir entgegen, gekleidet in Mini-Röcken. Es ist bereits nach 22:00 Uhr. Es scheint, als wäre das die absolute Normalität. Ich komme gerade aus Deutschland und kann diese Normalität kaum begreifen.
