Mohammad Nana Saab brutally murders Akshatha (30), a Hindu woman, after a six-month relationship in Karnataka.

She left her husband Krishna Indaragi, whom she married 12 yrs ago, and two children.

She was found murdered inside her rented residence in Bengaluru’s Jigani area. Police said she was allegedly strangled and assaulted by her live-in partner.

Her highly decomposed body was recovered after neighbours reported a foul smell from the locked house.

Bengaluru: A Hindu woman Sai Surabhi, 25, and her 28-year-old lover, Sanjeeth Ali P P, checked into a homestay near Nandi Hills.

The caretaker of the homestay found Sai Surabhi, 25, and her 28-year-old lover, Sanjeeth Ali PP lying motionless.

Sanjeeth Ali used to give her drugs and thrash her often. Surabhi was earlier admitted in a drug rehabilitation centre.

Surabhi had a noose around her neck while Ali was unconscious. Some tablets and a diary were also recovered from the room, which the police have seized for further investigation.

Surabhi worked as a physiotherapist at a private hospital in Muddenahalli, near Nandi Hills. Sanjeeth Ali, a mechanical engineering graduate, has been working as cab driver in Bengaluru.

He hails from Kozhikode, Kerala. Surabhi’s mother claimed Ali had been harassing Surabhi for several months, had introduced her to drugs.

A 26-year-old physiotherapist was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a homestay in Karnataka's Chikkaballapur district, while her boyfriend was found unconscious in the same room and hospitalised, police said on Monday.

The victim, identified as Surabhi, was a Hindu from Bengaluru and was in a relationship with Sanjeet Ali, a Muslim man from Kerala. According to police sources, Surabhi's family had alleged that Ali introduced her to narcotics and that she developed alcohol and drug addiction during the course of the relationship. Sources also claimed Ali repeatedly assaulted Surabhi and inflicted injuries to her private parts.

Surabhi had informed her family that she intended to marry Ali, but her family opposed the relationship, police said. The couple subsequently eloped, prompting her family to file a missing complaint. Surabhi later returned and told authorities that she was a major and had the legal right to choose her partner, following which she began living with Ali.

According to investigators, a case was registered against Surabhi and Ali under the NDPS Act after drugs were allegedly recovered during a party they attended. Police sources said Surabhi's family later rescued her from the relationship and admitted her to a rehabilitation centre in Mysuru, where she spent nearly six months undergoing treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. After completing rehabilitation, she returned to live with her mother in Bengaluru.

Investigators are now trying to determine how and why Surabhi resumed contact with Ali despite the alleged abuse, drug-related allegations and her family's opposition to the relationship. Police believe Ali learnt that Surabhi had arrived in Chikkaballapur to volunteer at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) campus, travelled there from Kerala and booked a homestay where the two stayed together for three days before the incident.

Police said it was too early to determine whether the death was a case of murder, suicide or poisoning, and that the exact cause would be known only after the post-mortem and forensic examination.

According to booking records, the couple had been staying at the homestay for the past three days, though investigators said the exact sequence of events leading up to Surabhi's death is still being verified.

Police recovered a rope, a large number of tablets, signs of vomiting and a pillow from the room where the victim was staying. However, investigators found no visible external injuries or blood-related wounds on her body.

"Since there are no visible external injuries or blood-related injuries on the body, it is not yet clear whether this is a case of suicide or murder. The exact cause of death can only be established after the post-mortem examination," Chikkaballapur Superintendent of Police Kushal Chowksi said.

Surabhi reportedly arrived in Chikkaballapur four or five days ago to volunteer at the SAI campus. Her family has confirmed this, while police are verifying the details with SAI authorities.

Police are probing multiple angles, including whether Ali murdered Surabhi and then attempted suicide, whether the couple entered into a suicide pact, or whether poisoning was involved.

"We cannot say whether she was murdered, poisoned, or died by suicide. A rope was also found inside the room, so all possibilities remain open. There is also a possibility of poisoning, as the man is undergoing treatment," SP Chowksi said.

Police said Ali, who is believed to be unemployed, has no known criminal records apart from an NDPS case registered against him and Surabhi. Investigators said his statement could prove crucial in reconstructing the events leading up to Surabhi's death once he regains consciousness.

I finally watched #TheKeralaStory2, and I wasn’t prepared for how deeply it would unsettle me.
Not just because of what the film shows but because of how badly some people wanted it stopped.

All those slogans about “freedom of art” and “don’t like it, don’t watch it” suddenly disappear here.
That contradiction was as loud as the film itself.

Seeing it play in cinemas across INDIA after so many attempts to block it felt symbolic like expression surviving pressure.

Swargiye Mohan Singh Katoch was tied up and dragged out of his home on the night before Shivratri in 1993 by 35 Islamist terrorists. He was taken from Bajarnee to Bhagwah, where he was hanged from an iron rod. The villagers were threatened with dire consequences if anyone touched his body.

He was a brave Hindu man whose last words were “Vande Mataram.” He told the terrorists that they could kill him, but he would not utter a single word. He had participated in the Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan and was associated with the RSS. His family faced immense hardship after his martyrdom.

I was only 10 years old when this incident was discussed during dinner at our home. Thankfully, today the whole world will come to know about the supreme sacrifice that we Hindus of the erstwhile District Doda have made to keep the Tricolour flying high.

A few years later, another targeted killing struck the same family. The brother of Mohan Singh Katoch, Sewa Singh Katoch, was shot at point-blank range. The terrorists ensured that he bled to death and that no one took him to the hospital. They were once our neighbours—people who lived among us before they turned into terrorists and began killing Hindus.

Since that fateful day, the family has not celebrated Shivratri. On that day, a father lost his son, a mother lost her son, a wife lost her husband, a daughter lost her father, a brother lost his elder brother, and the nation lost a braveheart.

We have countless such painful stories of targeted and brutal killings. I would like to thank Vikram Thakur and his JK Darshan channel for giving a voice to the family of this brave son of the soil.
