The cloud is someone else's computer.
But more importantly - it's someone else's building, someone else's cable, and someone else's power supply.
Understanding whose, and where, perhaps is the first step to sovereignty.
--
99% of the world's data crosses ocean floors on cables owned by a handful of organisations. Your "cloud" is a physical place with a physical address and a physical owner.
Digital sovereignty very well may start at the physical layer.
May not be in policy documents. May not be in compliance checklists. In buildings, cables, and power supplies.
Infrastructure may be the new oil ?

🚀 A massive milestone as years of effort come to fruition!
We’re incredibly proud that MahaCrimeOS AI, a CyberEye product, was unveiled today by @satyanadella and @Dev_Fadnavis at the Microsoft AI Tour in Mumbai.
We’ve built a world-class investigation copilot, shaped by years of benchmarking global crime-fighting measures, frameworks, and investigation standards.
We’re honoured to bring this innovation to Maharashtra under the visionary leadership of @Dev_Fadnavis, tailoring it to the state’s needs.
Thrilled that Microsoft recognised this innovation and partnered with us to scale its impact.
Grateful to the Government of Maharashtra and Microsoft for the trust. 🇮🇳
Huge kudos to the entire CyberEye team!

@Microsoft CEO @satyanadella announced MahaCrimeOS AI at the Microsoft AI Tour in Mumbai, unveiling a new platform built to help officers tackle cybercrime using AI tools. Developed by CyberEye along with Maharashtra’s special purpose vehicle MARVEL and the Microsoft India Development Centre, the Azure powered system is already live in 23 Nagpur police stations, with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis proposing expansion to all 1,100 stations in the state.
The platform automates routine investigative work such as instant case creation, multilingual information extraction, and contextual legal guidance. It integrates AI assistants, automated workflows, secure cloud systems, and retrieval augmented generation to pull accurate legal statutes and precedents. “Our collaboration with Microsoft began with solving complex cybercrime challenges, but its potential is far greater,” said Fadnavis, adding that the state intends to use AI to build more citizen centric governance. CyberEye CEO Ram Ganesh 🇮🇳 said the partnership empowers officers across the state to solve complex investigations with greater ease and lower workloads.
Microsoft noted that automated data extraction has cut FIR creation time to 15 minutes, reduced months long tasks to about a week, and enabled officers to handle several cases instead of one. Nadella’s visit to India also included the company’s AI tour across three cities and the announcement of a 17.5 billion dollar investment to expand cloud and AI infrastructure. Microsoft said it will deepen partnerships with Cognizant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, and Wipro, with each firm deploying more than 50,000 Copilot licenses.

For us, Deepavali is very closely linked to our culture and ethos. It is the soul of our civilisation. It personifies illumination and righteousness. The addition of Deepavali to the UNESCO Intangible Heritage List will contribute to the festival’s global popularity even further.
May the ideals of Prabhu Shri Ram keep guiding us for eternity.

When it comes to AI, the world is optimistic about India!
Had a very productive discussion with Mr. Satya Nadella. Happy to see India being the place where Microsoft will make its largest-ever investment in Asia.
The youth of India will harness this opportunity to innovate and leverage the power of AI for a better planet.
