@AnanthOnTrack Such person has no respect towards others ..a bigger issue with such exchanges, change of seats or even a coach, if at all these is an accident, insurance co. May not accept the claim as one is not on original assigned seat

A girl was travelling in 2AC, and when a family of 6 saw her Side Lower berth, what they asked her made her think twice.

The family said, "Please exchange your seat with ours. Your berth is just 2 coaches ahead."

When she refused, they said, "You are travelling alone anyway,
you can go and sit there. We are a family, so we can all sit together."

That’s when she decided
Not this time. She had specifically booked the Side Lower berth she wanted.

There was no emergency, no compulsion, so why should she give up her seat simply because it was more convenient for someone else ?

She politely said no.

No argument.
No guilt.
No explanation.

But the story did not end there.

Throughout the journey, the family behaved as if she had committed some huge crime by saying NO.

And that raises a bigger question - why is "you should adjust" always expected from the person who is more accommodating ?

Of course a family wants to sit together. That’s completely understandable. But does that mean a solo traveller is automatically expected to sacrifice their comfort every time ?

Helping others is a good thing. But respecting someone’s "NO" is equally important. You do not have to adjust every single time. Sometimes, standing up for your own choice and saying "NO" is perfectly okay.

Do not pressure someone just because their seat or situation is more convenient for you. And if someone says no, respect their decision instead of making them feel guilty.

Be civil. Be considerate. And most importantly, respect other people’s boundaries. Because your convenience matters
but not at someone else’s expense. #opinion
