@jbouie Charging me a $250 cleaning fee, then making me do the cleaning on top of that, and finally complaining about how well I cleaned the place is what broke me. Sure, there are certain cases where it will be better - but I'd rather make do with a Residence Inn suite or something
@DanTalksGames You're right. The corollary is that many D&D players don't know that it's just one type of a thing. Most may not even recognize that they play a TTRPG, because all they know is one...and it is D&D. They're not choosing it, they don't even know there's a choice.
@sixfivelando Jokic is amazing and maybe he ends up the better, but that doesn't mean Dirk was overrated. Look at the rest of the 2011 Mavs roster; Jason Terry is the 2nd best player on the team.
Not many have won chips with that caliber supporting cast.
@BrubruGeek Very interesting! An example WFRP 4e: You set a long term goal at which point your char retires. Alternatively, there's an in-fiction coming of age called a Dooming which says how you will die. If you die that way, some Bonus XP to the next character.
I'm finally caught up on @glasscannonpod's Legacy of the Ancients, and I don't want to be. What an amazing show. The Biggest Hand and the Biggest Heart is stuck in my head now.
@WhatDoIKnowJR It's not even the most nonsense thing in 5e - like a Cleric whose powerful deity will grant their faithful servant a spell one day, but not the next because the player didn't prepare it. The fiction makes no sense. Thankfully there are much better systems out there!
@troylavallee One of the best things about VTTs, players can't fudge so no question there. As a GM, I dunno why I'd ever need to fudge dice rolls when I control the in game universe...
