@PensareBBall Raptors fans take the cake for fanbase who is grossly overrating their teams title equity, yous aren’t top 6-7 in the league with those Quickley and Poeltl contracts kiddo
@ProPelsTalk Theoretically they have an opportunity to, but realistically they have no shot since the roster isn’t good enough on top of a FO sabotaging the franchise
@SamQuinnCBS Case in point, Brad Stevens making the Jrue and D White trades which got the Celtics over the hump - Danny Ainge never makes those trades because he “loses” on face value
@SamQuinnCBS They’re in a good position, but:
A) Hardy has to actually prove he can win now, vs show promise whilst losing for 4 years
B) Danny Ainge is great for rebuilding and gets in his own way when it’s time to cash for win-now moves, because he’s obsessive over winning lop-sided trades
@ALEVYWORLD@Lito_TheGawd All in - I think 5 is very optimistic given:
A) Joe and Troy are complete morons
B) we would have to take back bad contracts, if not entirely bad money, in any Zion and Poole trades to even sniff a first
@DaltonGNOLA@ThomasPhilipw Which is great to have 2 of the pistons worst FO executives of the last 20 years bonding like scorned ex’s at their newest franchise which they are speedrunning into the ground atm
@DaltonGNOLA@ThomasPhilipw My guess is Joe would be quite loyal to Troy, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if theyre both determined to try to get one back at the pistons
@atacostsubstack@ProPelsTalk For what we gave up at the time to draft him, if you said he ended up worse than Sengun I would have said it’s an awful trade. I also think it’s now quite unlikely he ends up better than Sengun
@atacostsubstack@ProPelsTalk Between being guardable by wings and also struggling against size in the post… there are way too many counters to slow him down to convince me that he’ll ever be a truly elite player
@pelsrbetta@ProPelsTalk - last thing bucks need is another guard
- Pels have minimal playmaking or guys who can elevate others if they trade Dejounte
- Pels should trade one of our centres in order to upgrade, rather than have 5 centres in the roster
@DaltonGNOLA I think under this year, especially considering our health last year and less tanking teams in both conferences - a lot of teams did pull the pin on their seasons by the time Dejounte returned
@cheddachaz This is why Troy is so much worse than any FO member we’ve had, has 0 discipline when he decides he “wants his guy” from the DMV and now we ended up with DQ instead of Mara because of his impatience and ill discipline
@DaltonGNOLA@KrrisssW Doesn’t have the superhuman strength because he has to keep the weight down to stay healthy. This is where not developing skills earlier in his career because he could depend on his force is really coming back to haunt him
@vinnymac33@FearTheBrown Chemistry can fizzle out whether it be from teams getting stale or player regression… Zion has lost his force and gravity in the paint that he once had, and Herb is a near 0 offensively the last 2 seasons
@FearTheBrown - No shooting outside of Trey in the starting lineup
- Way too many guys in the rotation you can pick on defensively
- Missis finishing is a big concern
- Zion is done, take back as much bad money as needed if that’s the avenue to getting assets/picks
@ChuckingDarts Fitting that he destroyed Queen today when Troy Weaver could’ve drafted him at 8 this year if he didn’t do the “go get his guy” thing in the previous draft and waste a pick in doing so
