The countryside is still open for exercise. Today's walk: Stanghow, Moorsholm, Little Moorsholm Farm and back to Stanghow. Views of the Lockwood shaft site for the polyhalite mine, an interesting stile, a memorial to Cleveland ironstone miners & a colourful wall and seat.

@LNER I watched the first Intercity 125's on the ECML in 1977 from my flat in Welwyn Garden City. In 1978 I came north for an interview in Scarborough. KGX to YRK on an HST - luxury, speed & a glimpse of the future - then a DMU on the twisting YRK to SCA line. What a contrast!
