@RedZoneIsb@AbsarAlamHaider What is the outcome when people report such illegal housing societies to the NAB. Does NAB help them in recovery from the societies to the people?
Government last night increased the price of petrol by Rs 6.51 and diesel by Rs 19.39. Now the cost of both is about Rs 400 per litre.
In setting the new price, the govt decreased tax (levy) on petrol by Rs 3.88. But it also increased the tax (levy) on diesel by Rs 28.69 per litre.
So now Pakistanis are paying about Rs 120 in custom duties and taxes on every litre of petrol and Rs 60 on every litre of diesel. The Pakistani people will therefore pay, and our govt will earn, Rs 180 bn of duties, taxes and levies on selling petrol and diesel this month.
This sacrifice by the people allows one govt to buy a luxury new jet for billions, another to increase the cost of an unfinished (for 15 years!) water pipeline project from Rs 40 billion to Rs 400 billion and yet another govt to give 25 crore (Rs 43 bn in total) to each govt MNA to spend in his constituency.
The govt will ask you for more sacrifices next month!
Most Pakistani local journalists are not capable of handling international affairs. This is due to poor analytical capacity and no formal training. Their main topic was how PTI is defeated, how Imran Khan is irrelevant, what Imran Khan is thinking in Adiala, and how foreign policy is better now, etc. Imagine this is their mental level in such intense times and important peace negotiations. The only good news is they are still better than Indian media
Dear Sir, what came to my mind is that Imran Khan should be made free by now as a good will gesture with some conditions. Like the PM requested US, PTI supporters should request those at the helm of affairs.
Excellent decision by Imran Khan to cancel pindi jalsa due to Islamabad peace talks. Govt should reciprocate by allowing Imran Khan's personal doctors to see him. Salman safdar stated after meeting khan that serious problems continue with his eyesight with minimal improvement
How Pakistan made the world over 3 trillion dollars richer
On April 7, the world edged toward Trump's 8pm ultimatum that "a whole civilization will die tonight." By mid-afternoon, Polymarket gave less than a 5% chance for a ceasefire. But then in a flurry of last-minute diplomacy led by Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif, ceasefire odds shifted from near-impossibility to 100%, as both U.S. and Iranian leadership publicly acknowledged the important role played by Pakistan.
The sharp shift in probability of ceasefire from near-zero to certainty, allows us to estimate cleanly the market value of Pakistan's successful diplomacy. There was a sharp jump of 2.9% in S&P500 around the ceasefire announcement. The reaction was similar the world over.
Global markets represent about $125T, so a 2.9% jump represents a gain of 3.6 trillion dollars for the world. Pakistan helped create TEN times its own GDP for the world!
For me, the best part is not the trillions of dollar, but seeing Pakistan on the world stage as a peace maker.
I hope Pakistan runs with this new identity by promoting peace not only abroad, but also at home. That means moving away from politics of division and exclusion, and treating every citizen as its own.
Pakistan welcomes all delegates including journalists from participating nations, traveling in relation to Islamabad Talks 2026. To this end, all airlines are requested to permit boarding to all such individuals without Visa. Immigration authorities in Pakistan will issue them Visa on Arrival.
Pakistan is receiving congratulatory phone calls from leaders across the globe. The diplomacy master stroke by Pakistan has won the hearts of the world except for three terrorist nations.
