Timing almost always dictates outcomes.
If I've learned one thing about opportunity as a founder, that's it.
A weird Goldilocks principle is at play:
Bad timing = low floor, low ceiling opportunities
Too early?
You'll likely fail (i.e. run out of money) before you find PMF. Low floor.
Too late?
You'll fight bloody battles over scraps in a saturated market. Low ceiling.
Good timing = high floor, high ceiling opportunities
Try to find opportunities where the timing is "just right".
Finally watched @ericries on @lennysan 's pod and holy shit... what a breath of fresh air!
Just pre-ordered Incorruptible
Lean Startup changed the game (and my life) 15 yrs ago, and in our increasingly dark and corrupt world, I pray to God this ray of sunshine spreads, too
@garrytan@justinvincent Say no more fam, this 37 y/o solo founder is happy to be one of the uncs (did I do that right? ;) to the prodigious youth in the batch
@chrisstlmo@realEstateTrent The loudest "holy shit!" was prob when I deployed software I built to real users in production as a non-technical guy working in "tech" for 15+ years
@Replit 's responsible for that particular experience, but there are now several ways you can do the same
Everyone's suddenly an expert on "taste" and "slop."
… but I haven’t seen anyone define what actually separates them.
Here’s a thread on the four key variables that do 🧵

Grateful to @amasad and Team for building their thing, which makes it possible to build our thing
Thanks for handing this non-technical founder a magic wand!🪄
S/O to @MannyBernabe , @raymmar , and crew for building + organizing the community 🙌

P.S. this weekend I'm pushing things as far as possible.
I'm participating in @Replit's Buildathon for their 10th anniversary to transform Alto Studios into a full-stack software platform for modern, digitally-native storytellers.
Couldn't have found a better excuse to accelerate the dev of our roadmap.
Happy bday and cheers to the next decade! 🥳
