약 5억 달러 가치의 프로토콜이 하루 100달러 미만의 온체인 매출을 내는 동안, AI 학습 데이터 시장에서는 Google-Reddit 연 6,000만 달러, OpenAI-News Corp 5년 2억 5천만 달러의 계약이 체결되고 있었습니다. 가정에 머문 수요와 이미 존재하는 수요, Story는 후자로 움직였습니다.

1/ Cypherpunk.

Cypherpunks use cryptography to resist centralized control. They view privacy as the freedom to choose what to reveal, not secrecy, and consider it a key part of a social contract. Their ethos is action over theory—summarised in “Write Code”—building real systems that protect freedom and anonymity. Cypherpunk combines “cypher” (cryptography) and “punk” (rebellious subculture), referring to those who use cryptographic tools to resist centralized control.

2/ The Blockchain Paradox.

Blockchain’s evolution produced a paradox: instead of privacy, a powerful surveillance industry emerged. Chainalysis and similar firms de-anonymise addresses, seize illicit funds, and profit from B2G revenue. Tornado Cash sanctions exposed the clash between privacy tools and compliance. Institutions avoid DeFi because transparency exposes strategies, MEV enables exploitation, and regulation adds cost. Solutions lie in ZK privacy, institution-friendly DeFi, and clearer global rules.

3/ A Hegelian Lens on Cypherpunk.

This section frames cypherpunk through Hegelian dialectics, where thesis and antithesis collide to produce a more advanced synthesis, repeating in continual progression. To examine this dynamic, Persona Bots simulate counterfactual debates between contrasting stakeholders: Vitalik Buterin advocating privacy and decentralisation, Bank of Korea Governor Changyong Lee prioritising regulation and stability, and BlackRock’s Larry Fink emphasising institutional trust and controlled market adoption.

4/ Blockchain as Risk Hedge.

Larry Fink’s shift toward blockchain is rooted in caution, not hype. After a career-defining $100M loss, he built BlackRock on transparency and data-driven control, embodied in Aladdin. Blockchain aligned with that worldview: traceable, efficient, and demanded by clients. By piloting tokenized money market funds and later Bitcoin ETFs, Fink reframed crypto as risk mitigation and portfolio protection, ultimately embracing tokenization as the next evolution of financial infrastructure.

5/ A Three-Way Simulated Dialogue on Privacy and Power.

Cypherpunk freedom, regulatory stability, and conditional balance. Vitalik treats privacy as the basis of freedom and argues for broad anonymity with selective disclosure using ZKPs and protocol governance. Dr. Lee accepts privacy but prioritizes public safety, monetary sovereignty, and CBDC trust, insisting on limited anonymity, KYC/AML, and strong oversight. Fink sits in the middle, favouring tiered anonymity, regulation embedded in code, and joint public–private governance so that innovation, tokenization, and institutional adoption can proceed without sacrificing systemic stability.

6/ Co-evolving Privacy and Regulation in Cypherpunk 2.0.

Their simulated dialogue explores five core tensions: privacy vs accountability, DeFi innovation vs financial stability, compliance vs civil liberties, code vs law, and institutional demand for confidentiality. The synthesis is a “digital social contract” where cash-like privacy is guaranteed for small, low-risk transactions, while large or risky flows face stricter transparency. Practically, this means layered privacy, ZKPs and DID for selective disclosure, compliance-by-design infrastructure, global regulatory sandboxes, and new “privacy governance” that unites technologists, regulators, and investors. In this Cypherpunk 2.0 vision, privacy and regulation co-evolve rather than collide.

7/ Conclusion

The return to Cypherpunk reveals how freedom continually dances with control. Cypherpunk sparked a movement rooted in freedom and privacy. Its ideals now exist in constant tension with regulation, forming a dynamic balance rather than a decisive victory for either side. As freedom and control push against one another, the blockchain ecosystem evolves. The question is no longer whether to be cypherpunk, but how to carry its torch forward in a changing landscape.

깐부가 된 맨틀과 솔라나, 첫 오프라인 행사는 홍콩 당첨입니다. 오늘 행사는 맨틀과 솔라나가 스킨십하는 첫 데이트같은 행사입니다.
2주 전 MNT 멀티체인 빅 어나운스가 있었고, 크로스체인 허브 맨틀 슈퍼 포탈이 열렸습니다.
이번 확장으로 바이리얼에서 온체인 수익 기회, 바이비트를 통해 솔라나 입출금과 인센티브를 지원하고, 온체인 유동성과 거래소 편리+효율이 합쳐진 CeDefi의 장이 시작됐습니다.

개인적으로 컨센서스 메인 행사보다 솔라나 액셀러레이터가 좋았어요. 모든 조명이 솔라나 키 컬러라 입장부터 외부와 다른 공간이 시작된다고 느껴집니다. 다들 오~~ 하면서 들어오게 되고, 오프라인 행사는 그런 일관적인 브랜딩과 압도되는 느낌이 중요하다 생각합니다.

그리고 각 부스나 기물도 홍콩 야시장 느낌 or 솔라나스럽게 꾸며서 보는 재미가 있었고, KBW보다 쾌적하게 다양한 커피와 밥을 먹을 수 있었습니다.

아무래도 일반 리테일보다는 빌더들 위주의 행사여서 그런듯합니다. (게다가 메인 이벤트는 비싸지만 솔라나 액셀 이벤트는 같은 컨벤션 건물인데 루마 등록만으로 공짜..)

솔라나 대표 플레이어인 주피터, 지토 대장도 만나고, 참여자들도 솔라나에 진심인 빌더들이 많아 네트워킹도 재밌었습니다. 맨틀 티셔츠를 입고 갔더니 생태계 온보딩 축하한다고 말해주는 사람들도 있었어요. 확실히 로열티가 높은 유저들이 많아서, 뉴스도 팔로우업 열심히 해온 느낌을 받았습니다.

Byreal과 맨틀팀이 함께 운영한 부스도 인기가 좋았습니다. RWA 메타와 함께 인프라로서, Ai로 대체되지 않는 기술적 사업적 해자를 잘 만들어가고 있다고 느껴집니다. (바이브 코딩으로 메인넷을 만들수는 없고, 맨틀은 유통이 중요하다는 점을 빠르게 캐치해서 파트너십 넓히면서 실행 중) @Mantle_Official @0xMantleKR

개인적으로는 주피터 대표의 피칭을 인상깊게 들었습니다.
왜 다른 팀은 주피터처럼 못하는가? 질문을 던지고, "Nobody ships like jupiter"라고 말하면서 빡빡하고 굵직한 업데이트 내역을 보여줬습니다.
다른 스피치도 테크보다는 비즈니스 적인 내용이 많았고,온 세상이 RWA와 스테이블코인에 주목하고 있구나 피부로 느껴졌습니다.

글로벌 행사에 참여할 때마다, 한국과 다른 나라가 관심사가 다르구나 생각도 듭니다.
많은 기획을 보고 참여하고, 사람을 만나다보면 나도 더 기억에 남는 콘텐츠와 행사를 만들고 싶다는 생각을 했습니다.
