“IF I MUST DIE”
BY REFAAT ALAREER
(09/23/1979-12/06/2023)
If I must die,
you must live
to tell my story
to sell my things
to buy a piece of cloth
and some strings,
(make it white with a long tail)
so that a child, somewhere in Gaza
while looking heaven in the eye
awaiting his dad who left in a blaze—
and bid no one farewell
not even to his flesh
not even to himself—
sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up above
and thinks for a moment an angel is there
bringing back love
If I must die
let it bring hope
let it be a tale
This is a genuinely fantastic interrogation from Zack Polanski - leading to some truly pathetic responses and blatant distraction techniques from Sadiq Khan.
It’s precisely how you expose the moral corruption of the UK establishment.
So it looks like Steve Reed is going to housing what a joke - the man who chaired the Nine Elms development that delivered 1000s of high value homes with hardly any affordable let alone social rented homes and don’t even mention Lambeth and Croydon - absolute nightmare
Given Stevie’s form it will be let’s get council estate demolishing again ! A sense of dread for the future of our council estates not forgetting his disastrous chairing of the Nine Elms development look how 💩 that turned out on social rent numbers
Every council home sold without replacement deepens the housing crisis. Selling off our safety net while people face record waits and sky-high rents is indefensible. We need a government that will build public homes and protect them for the future not continue to sell them off!
First govt claimed they got that ludicrous £100bn to nationalise the water industry came from a think tank report. Then it claimed didn't because the idea was totally rubbish, transpired the report had been bought and paid for by water companies.
Then it claimed it had been calculated internally by civil servants at @DefraGovUK independent of everyone else. Then it didn't because the idea was also rubbish, transpired there was no independent Defra calculation it was all based on the same rubbish, totally makeup, totally factious @Ofwat's regulatory capital value, the one that also claims that @thameswater is worth a mind melting £21,008,425,000.
Blistering letter calling govt out for its deceit from the People's Commission.

The Israeli-US food distribution scheme in Gaza is slaughter masquerading as humanitarian aid. In one month, 500+ have been killed for seeking food.
The Israeli authorities must revert to a principled humanitarian system, coordinated by the UN.

Some journalists here harrumph about Kneecap like retired Home Counties colonels reading the paper over breakfast.
Others demand the rappers are treated like they're MLAs.
Meanwhile, here's a piece from the Express.
The Daily Express, ffs.
