@DrewSpringer@Michaelfiore Wish we had more people of character in the central texas concrete industry.
Thousands of families with totaled pools due to the bad actions of a few concrete batch guys.
Posts like this make me miss west Texas.

The Pease Park troll cost about $300,000 to build, funded by private donors who wanted to create something magical for Austin.
And now it sits burned down. A pile of ashes surrounded by caution tape.
A giant wooden troll where kids laughed, families took photos, and people stopped for a moment to enjoy something whimsical in the middle of the city… gone.
It’s hard not to feel like this is symbolic of something bigger. We build beautiful things in Austin, and somehow we keep finding them destroyed.
Sometimes it really feels like we just can’t have nice things anymore. #atxcouncil
It's great to see my good friend Senator Brian Birdwell going back to the Pentagon as an Assistant Secretary of War for Sustainment @DeptofWar, just confirmed by the U.S. Senate!
Former Lt. Col. @SenatorBirdwell 🎖️ is a 9/11 survivor of that attack, which ended his active military career, but began a journey, told in his book, "Refined by Fire," leading to his election and service in the Texas Senate for over a decade, where we became fast friends known as "FRICK" and "FRICK" literally! Humorously, more than one #txlege chair would call on one of us by the other's name, getting a 😆 laugh-out-loud moment!
His nomination by President @realDonaldTrump 47 drew 21 bipartisan votes in the Senate Armed Services Committee @SASCGOP, by Chair @SenatorWicker as they recognized Brian's qualifications, dedication, and expertise in logistics, something Army War Fighters can appreciate! 25 years later, he returns to the Pentagon!

🚨👀⛳️ #BREAKING — Bryson DeChambeau says he is prepared to pursue his YouTube channel’s growth and compete in tournaments “that want me” if LIV Golf folds, adding that he has had conversations with the PGA Tour.
“I think, from my perspective, I'd love to grow my YouTube channel three times, maybe even more.”
“I'd love to do a bunch of dubbing in different languages, giving the world more reason to watch YouTube. And then I'd love to play tournaments that want me.”
He admitted that the potential penalties he would face from the PGA Tour would be “quite unfortunate in my opinion, considering what I could do for them.”
“I was completely shocked (on PlF pullout), I didn't expect it to happen. A couple months before that, it's like, 'We're here until 2032. We've got financing until 2032, and so I told everybody, and that's what I was told.”
“And then, you know, I haven't had any
communication. And unfortunately, things are moving on in a different direction. Obviously, they wanted to move.”
"There's a few different models (on LIV future). Look, the PGA Tour isn't doing great either. Let's be honest about the situation. They've got the media.”
“They've got everybody on the side that helps pump it up. But they're reducing field sizes, cutting employees, and restructuring their business too.”

There are 3,428 billionaires in the world.
They didn’t “earn” that money in the traditional sense.
They built things the world decided were extraordinarily valuable.
Companies used by millions, sometimes billions, of people every day.
Search engines.
Social media platforms.
Home product delivery.
Smartphones.
Cloud software.
Electric vehicles.
Payment systems.
Pharmaceutical breakthroughs.
Retail networks.
Entertainment platforms.
Logistics systems.
Semiconductors.
Consumer brands.
They created products, platforms, infrastructure, and companies that changed how people live, work, communicate, buy, sell, travel, learn, and build.
That doesn’t mean every billionaire is good.
It doesn’t mean every fortune is clean.
But the idea that “no one can earn a billion dollars” is disrespectful to the extraordinary value these people have created for all of us.
Many of them built the rails modern life runs on.
More than just a golf course, @savemuny represents the spirit of public golf and a community-driven effort to preserve one of Austin’s most historic municipal courses.
Inspired by a proposed restoration from hometown legend Ben Crenshaw, this new release celebrates accessible golf at its best.

This is a solid press release by Lt. Gov. @DanPatrick and Speaker @Burrows4TX, recognizing the obvious technical fact that fiber optics may not be available in rural camp areas this summer that have 10s of thousands of campers visiting in 2026.
The key point is that if all other conditions are met, the idea of redundant internet communications for camps was what this portion of the law was about, and that other means besides fiber can meet that purpose and spirit of the law.
As the author of the outdoor flood warning siren bill, I can say those separate systems look to be on track coming online before July 4th per the TWDB-led implementation this summer. #txlege
Mr. Speaker @Burrows4TX, I am sorry to hear of Chad's passing. Everything you shared about him is true; he extended those same courtesies to a Senator all the way down in H-town on multiple occasions. My condolences to his family. #txlege@kevinsparkstx@electcharles@carltepper@ChadHastyRadio
After two days of heartbreaking testimony, including from the Heaven’s 27 families, who lost their daughters at Camp Mystic, and from investigators, it’s clear that Camp Mystic was totally unprepared, understaffed, complacent, incompetent, and lacking an evacuation plan.
It's time for @TexasDSHS to act NOW and stop Camp Mystic from operating under any license this summer.
It’s time to end this 10-month journey of indescribable pain for these families and to protect future campers.
Fact: Texas law requires any camp death to be reported to the state within 24 hours. Today, Mary Liz Eastland, the Chief Health Officer and Camp Director, testified that after 10 months, she still has not reported a single death, as required by law. Camp Mystic’s 2026 application for license renewal had 22 deficiencies that were either incomplete, insufficient, or missing, including a flash flood evacuation plan. Shocking testimony was given today showing that children in multiple cabins were left to fend for themselves and fight for their lives.
The evidence is overwhelming. I am now asking DSHS, for the third time, to stop Camp Mystic from operating under any license this summer.
What other information does DSHS need to act? No more excuses. How many campers must die for a camp operator to lose their license?
Is it 1? 3? 5? 10? Is 27 not enough?
If not for brave teenage counselors, who saved girls by their heroic actions, it could have been 50 or more.
After Mystic operators’ previous courtroom testimony, and these 2 days of legislative testimony, I am also calling on Camp Mystic's operators, the Eastland family, to end this nightmare for Heaven’s 27 and WITHDRAW their license application and announce there will be no camp this summer at Mystic. #txlege
Yesterday, the House General Investigating Committee on the July 2025 Flooding concluded two days of joint hearings with our Senate counterparts, examining the facts and failures that led to the tragic loss of life at Camp Mystic last summer.
These proceedings required courage—from the families who have endured loss, from survivors and all those impacted who continue to carry the weight of that night, and from those entrusted with uncovering the truth. We are especially grateful to the Heaven’s 27 families, whose grief is profound and enduring, yet who have chosen to share their stories in the hope that no other family will experience such heartbreak.
What emerged is deeply painful: there were failures—of systems, of preparation, and of response. Nothing can undo that fact. However, we have a responsibility to confront these realities with honesty, to learn from them, and to act. We must ensure places meant for joy, character-building, and lifelong friendships—like summer camps—remain safe for every child.
I want to recognize the investigators, Casey Garrett and Justice Michael Massengale, for their work. Everyone agrees they did an incredible job. I want also to thank the members of both the House and Senate committees for their dedication to this effort—Chairs @MorganMeyerTX and @PeteFlores_TX, Vice-Chairs @moodyforelpaso and @electcharles, and members @DrewDarbyTX, @PaulDysonTX, @RepErinEGamez, @SenBryanHughes, @LoisKolkhorst, and @Menendez4Texas. They probed and are leading to bring out the truth, so we can better protect our children and families from future disasters.
Thanking God that our President, First Lady, and attendees of the WH Correspondents’ dinner are seemingly safe and the suspect has been taken out. As we continue to monitor, may God bless and protect our country and her leaders.
Had a great visit with some of our most dedicated grassroots leaders at the Village Republican Women meeting today, alongside Representatives @LaceyHullTx and @ManoForTexas, Senator @TeamBettencourt, as well as other local leaders and candidates.
I appreciated the opportunity to highlight what the Texas House achieved this past session—and how we’ll build on that momentum next session.
But first, we must unite as a party and rally behind our Republican candidates in the upcoming general election. Our progress depends on staying focused and strengthening our majority.
Thank you @VillageRepWomen for the invitation, and for all you do to keep Texas strong, free, and full of opportunity.
Vaccines were once so uncontroversial that McDonald’s restaurants put the childhood immunization schedule on their tray liners.
Now, as the U.S. government sows doubt, preventable diseases could come roaring back.

This is a very chilling story out of Tallahassee, FL… The details are that a shooter allegedly used ChatGPT while planning a mass shooting at a state university, asking questions as to what type of gun to use, ammunition-choice and where the busiest part of campus was for maximum damage.
Due to all of this, Florida AG @JamesUthmeierFL is subpoenaing OpenAI and conducting an investigation into their policy and how this never alerted law enforcement. A mere human would be arrested for this, so AG Uthmeier is all over it!
🚨🚨Red alarm for Big Tech‼️ We have had multiple hearings in the Senate on many issues with social media being misused, unblocked, and now we have aiding and abetting a shooter! What do you think? Should anyone other than the individual responsible for carrying out the attack be held accountable?
P.S. Speaker @Burrows4TX has added a similar item it to the interim hearing list and I’m sure the Senate will be considering it, too. I have consistently lectured BIG tech that they have a responsibility to American Society, so it’s time they act like it! #txlege
