17% of the country is now addicted to a drug that is associated with increased risk of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression and a host of other mental illnesses. Many regular users are minors who are at greater risk of addiction. THC levels are totally unregulated and rising rapidly, meaning weed is more potent and dangerous than ever before. It has polluted the smell of NYC and other big cities, as people smoke openly on the street. And the illegal trade has only increased, even as head shops now abound.

In short, legalization of weed has been an unmitigated disaster and will have wide-ranging negative consequences for generations.
