Testing bottlenecks on our transport algorithm with some engineering runs on Nebula, our autonomous lab today.
If you want to see 160 lab devices connected by 105 robots (and the world's coolest train tracks 😆) come visit during our happy hour tomorrow for @Ginkgo Datapoints!
Weds June 3rd, 6pm in Seaport in collaboration with our partner Helical ! Register here:

Today we’re launching Benchling Automation, a unified solution that connects lab instrument data directly to the scientific record.
Scientists can now:
✔️ Pull data from 200+ instruments directly into Benchling
✔️ Run analytics automatically, with results delivered to notebooks
✔️ Automate workflows with flexible no-code and custom code options
We’re building an open ecosystem and launching with partners powering modern labs: @HighResBio, @automata_tech, @Ginkgo, @CellTrio, @opentrons, and @HamiltonCompany.
Available now: https://t.co/J6PSa3ePqQ
Lab automation shouldn’t stop when an instrument run ends.
That’s why we built Benchling Automation, a unified solution to automatically connect instrument data to scientific records.
We’re launching with partners across the workcells and instruments scientists are using today: @HighResBio, @automata_tech, @Ginkgo, @CellTrio, @opentrons, and @HamiltonCompany.
Cell-free gives you the fast screen. E. coli gives you the yield.
This week, we're launching E. coli Minibinder Expression with His-tag Purification and Yield via A280 on Ginkgo's Cloud Lab — living-cell expression for when you're past the screen and ready for material.
Submit your amino acid sequences or linear DNA templates. We express His-tagged minibinders in E. coli, purify on His-tag magnetic beads, and report A280 yield per well — up to 96 constructs in parallel.
Two routes, one platform: screen your designs fast in cell-free, then express the winners at higher yield in E. coli.
Transparent pricing at $199/sample, with full visibility into every step and instrument — same as every Cloud Lab protocol.

Katia Riddle at @NPR went inside our Boston facility to witness Nebula, the world’s largest autonomous lab, in action. She spoke with our co-founders @jrkelly and @reshmapshetty about how autonomous labs are already shaping the future of scientific discovery.

Thrilled to launch our new ADME-One service at @Ginkgo with our partners @inductive_bio and Tangible Scientific!
Amazing price point at $199 -- this is what AI + autonomous labs will enable in biopharma CRO services.
ADME-One delivers a high-throughput Tier 1 ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) panel paired with best-in-class AI-powered human pharmacokinetic (PK) projection and fully integrated compound management.
* Ginkgo Datapoints: Data Generation. All five Tier 1 assays (microsomal stability, cell permeability, kinetic solubility, CYP inhibition, and plasma protein binding) are executed end-to-end in Ginkgo's automated laboratory in Boston. Validated, standardized workflows produce AI-ready data without the variability of manual handling.
* Inductive Bio: AI-Driven Contextualization. Inductive Bio's Compass platform turns the experimental panel into actionable human PK projections, integrating disparate individual ADME datapoints into a single multiparameter optimization endpoint that guides compound prioritization. The company's ADMET models are independently validated as best-in-class, having recently won both the 2025 ASAP and 2026 ExpansionRx OpenADMET blind prediction challenges, two of the most rigorous public benchmarks in the field.
* Tangible Scientific: Compound Management. Customers submit compounds and receive results. Tangible handles compound intake, plating, real-time tracking, and management for every ADME-One order, eliminating the logistics overhead that typically accompanies outsourced ADME work.

This week, we’re launching E. coli Protein Expression, Purification & Quantification on Ginkgo’s Cloud Lab!
We express and purify His-tagged proteins in E. coli. You get back quantification data using A280-based yield measurements and a purity readout using LabChip (capillary electrophoresis).
Submit your protein designs here:

The Reconfigurable Automation Cart (RAC) is the quintessential unit of the autonomous lab. Dan Curhan, a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at Ginkgo, walks you through how these robots combine and recombine to run simultaneous experiments from a lab's worth of scientists.

Excited to speak tomorrow at #BioITExpo !
Will be in Momenum E at 10:45am on Weds. Come by!
How Autonomous Labs will replace the lab bench.
This seminar focuses on the real-world implementation of autonomous labs—drawing directly from active projects with OpenAI and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). Ginkgo's collaboration with OpenAI connected GPT-5 to @Ginkgo's autonomous lab, improving cell-free protein synthesis reaction costs by 40% over the scientific state of the art. In parallel, the DOE commissioned over 100 integrated laboratory robots from Ginkgo to enable national-lab scale automation for R&D as part of the White House's Genesis Mission to bring AI to science.

We’re launching direct ordering with @TwistBioscience, @adaptyvbio, and @Ginkgo! 🙌
Now scientists can design candidates, place orders for synthesis and services, and receive structured results back without ever leaving Benchling. This closes the gap between in silico design and wet lab execution, with full experimental context.
In partnership with:
✔️ @TwistBioscience for gene fragments, clonal genes, antibody production, and characterization
✔️ @adaptyvbio for protein engineering services
✔️ @Ginkgo for antibody developability
