@roostah @litonidas and I have been chatting about this idea. You would need a common chipset across all devices that create or display/play media content. A bit like DRM. Imagine your phone imposing a msg over a video “this content cannot be verified.”

So much anxiety re: #deepfakes concerns the risk of fake content passing for real. Legit issue, but what happens when deepfakes are so good that we can’t prove that authentic media are real? What happens to the #ruleoflaw online when no digital evidence is admissible in court?
