The Flag is Green and White; and the Green I was told stands for the country's wealth in Agriculture and Natural Resources...Such was the mind of Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi, whose winning design for the flag is today the official colours of the Nation.

The wealth beneath the soil is God given, but even then the people of Canaan had their own moments of encounter with Sapa that God's own favored family 'Jacob and sons' had to flee home to the land of the Slave masters 'Egypt' to hustle for the next meal, despite Canaan being the promised Land 😆, A Nation directly under God's government, yet, they suffered famine.

The White However, represents Peace and Unity, as described by Taiwo Akinkunmi, who by the way designed the flag as a Nigerian student in London...Paradise has always been symbolically described as White either in movies, music, or in pieces of literature like 'My book of Bible Stories' etc. Despite the saintly impressions of the heavenlies, war was still recorded, violent disagreement amongst Celestial bodies and an insurrection that led to a secession or more like it, an entity directly under God. This established in my mind that the sky however White will still acknowledge the presence of dark clouds....

Green and White are our colours, wealth, peace and unity are our lot and regardless of what currently abound, that presents a reality in contrast with desire and vision, we will get there...Even Nations and Societies directly under God encountered their periods of instability, Incertitude and Lack... And for over 60 years, Nigeria may have been in and out phases of discomfort, but I assure you presently, our time to finally enter the realm of realization of our vision as symbolized by our colours, 'Green and White' is here...

With Visionary leaders such as the Genius Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the highly celebral Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeed, PhD, Uncommon Senate President Akpabio, I am more than certain, Nigeria of our dreams is finally here.

The actions taken by Governor Sanwoolu so far over the unfortunate elevator-linked death of Dr Vwaere Diaso, from the suspension of the GM of the Lagos State Infrastructure and Asset Management Agency, the delisting and sacking of the facility management company and the arrest and handing over of the elevator installers to the police for prosecution, has been very commendable.

And by introducing a policy to involve the hospital management in the running of the facility shows that the government has learnt needed lessons from this needless tragedy. I am hard-pressed to see how the Lagos State Government could have handled the situation better.

Additionally, it is particularly heartwarming that all staff of the Lagos State Government have life insurance provided by the state. And while this will not bring Dr Diasa back, it offers at least some succour to her family. Indeed, Lagos has shown itself to be a Centre of Excellence in Nigeria, and I commend the government of the state for restoring the confidence of the public in its ability to govern them effectively.

I think it is time to call a spade, a spade: the simple reason the elites in the South East are finding it difficult to speak out against those killing and dehumanising their own people in the East is the fear of reprisal attacks against their own properties and family members back home by these ‘unknown gunmen’.

I have spoken to my friends privately and they have admitted this much. Let’s not put unnecessary pressure on these elites. It’s a difficult situation for them. Their silence does not mean support for what is happening there. It is the responsibility of the federal government to restore law and order in all parts of the country and this I am ABSOLUTELY certain the government of @officialABAT will do. Besides, we cannot isolate a region and its elites in a country where we see ourselves as one. It is our collective responsibility to assist the FG in restoring order nationwide.

The only thing I ask is that these same elites must either now be silent or totally support the efforts of the federal government (be it military or otherwise) in restoring order to that region. When they initially kicked against operation ‘PYTHON DANCE’ in the East, little did they know that the situation would degenerate to this level of savagery. Now, they know.

Special adviser to the president on Special duties, communications and startegy Dele Alake, briefed the media on the following:

To address concerns raised by manufacturers and other stakeholders regarding recent tax changes, President Bola Tinubu has signed 4 executive orders:

1 - The Finance Act Order, 2023, which defers the commencement date of the changes contained in the Act from May 23, 2023, to September 1, 2023.

2 - Customs Excise Tariff Amendment Order, 2023, shifts the commencement date of tax changes from March 27, 2023, to August 1, 2023.

3 - Suspension of the 5% Excise Tax on telecommunication services and excise duty on locally produced produts.

4 - Suspension of the newly introduced Green Tax on Single Use Plastics and the Import Tax Adjustment levy on certain vehicles.
