Delighted to announce that Siliserh Lake, in Alwar, Rajasthan and Kopra Jalashay near Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh have been designated as Ramsar Sites.

It’s an appreciable milestone in our collective efforts towards the conservation and preservation of our rich biodiversity and water resources and ensuring climate security and sustainable livelihoods.

This takes India’s tally of Ramsar Sites to a proud 96 - up from 26 in 2014!

I congratulate the people of Alwar, especially those residing in the vicinity of Siliserh, and feel delighted to see Siliserh Lake, in my constituency Alwar, attain this global recognition.

With PM Shri @narendramodi ji leading the way, India is rapidly moving ahead in the area of biodiversity and Amrit Dharohar conservation, and we are inching closer to 100!

I congratulate the people of both Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh for this momentous achievement.
