On 25 June 1975, opposition leaders led by Jayaprakash Narayan, Dr Subramanian Swamy, Morarji Desai and others held one of the biggest rallies in the history of independent India at Ramlila Maidan. It was a defining moment — the first time the Congress faced such a powerful and united opposition.
Indira Gandhi was already under immense pressure after the Allahabad High Court had declared her Lok Sabha election null and void. Around midnight, she declared a national Emergency through a Presidential proclamation and ordered the arrest of many opposition leaders.
At about 1:30 a.m., the telephone rang in Dr Swamy’s house.
He picked up the receiver. A voice at the other end asked, “Is this Dr Swamy’s residence?”
“Yes,” the professor replied.
“We are coming to get you,” the policeman said.
Dr Swamy was stunned. That call marked the beginning of his dramatic escape from Indira Gandhi’s Emergency.

Modi did not ask for Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation because CJP was gaining popularity, or because of Wangchuk, or because of Rahul or Priyanka Gandhi.
He agreed to it because the student movement had grown beyond the control of CJP, Wangchuk, and the Congress.
The real reason was that the Gen-Z movement was spreading across the country. Modi had no choice.
And in the process, this movement has completely destroyed the carefully crafted image he built over the last 12 years.
Could things go more absurd in faculties of analysis? Former Chief Malik asserts lessons of Kargil shaped OP SINDOOR. Just how? Former was a majorly ground offensive, the latter mostly air, partially navy and no insertion via land except mobilozation for the same. There was proper preparation, info gathering & well planned execution in OP Sindoor, unlike the adhocism in Kargil with deliberate misinformation to troops forced into hasty, ill prepared, suicidal frontal assaults. The real history & consequently lessons of Kargil war yet to be learnt.
OP Sindoor had brilliance of planning & execution right upto the top level of military & civil leadership. No connect or semblence at all even in own casualties due to blunders of few Generals at Kargil.

BJP has to be SAVED!
The present BJP leadership needs to be CHANGED !
It is shocking and shameful that after dilly-dallying for a few months, ultimately Education Minister @dpradhanbjp resigned — but not before damaging the BJP further in the last few weeks.
All the fake narratives spread by blind bhakts/ andh bhakts justifying Pradhan’s continuation now have to eat crow.
The mishandling of the student protest and police brutality on the youth last Monday was the last straw on the camel’s back.
