However I don't see education pricing as a promotion. Sales promotion is a short-term incentive to initiate trial or purchase (as per Wikipedia).

So - @Apple had a black friday mega promotion: $140 gift card when purchasing an iPad Pro. Fine print indicated no exclusions. Went ahead to purchase the iPad for education purposes, for which there is a different pricing (not promotion). Got the iPad, but not the gift card.

Turns out that the gift card does not apply for education pricing (as indicated by their contact center). Isin't this misleading marketing? If education pricing is a 'promotion' then clearly state in your fine print that no gift card for education pricing.
