@BrittHanlon6 Very true, autotune and other editing techniques make songs sound much different then if performed live. Sometimes its better, and other times worse!

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

@btrimmbtrimm I agree as well. music is made so perfect in a studio that it's hard to mimic it live!

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

I agree and disagree. Songs recorded in a studio can sound amazing because of the equipment and editing used to make them, so performing them live can be disappointing at times. But the experience of a live show is unmatched. #S22POPMUS

@luff_miranda I also believe it shouldn't be dismissed because it is still music and takes skill to create. great point at the end, safe music is still good music!

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

@xKobly this is a very good take, it shouldn't happen again but a positive is people can learn from it.

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

#S22POPMUS I believe this music is considered schlock because it takes away from the original rock and desensitizes it. I do think skill still goes into this, but I can see why people see it as cultural theft.

@hayley_peterss very well put! the pauses and breaks in ray Charles lyrics truly grab the audience and take them on the emotional journey with him!

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

@Madison05989214 I agree fully, The breaking voice does invoke a lot of emotions especially for ray Charles and bessie smith!

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

#S22POPMUS Ray Charles uses a breaking voice to invoke raw emotion into his lyrics. This is used in his song "I Got A Woman" to emphasize his true feelings he had for this woman. This technique is very effective for Ray Charles in his music career.

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

@Madison05989214 I agree completely, anyone can listen for free instead of having to buy the music like before so it eliminates the higher class system. Music can bring everyone together so it is a great thing!

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

@sarahmlamswood So very true. for a long time when AirPods came out they were seen as very prestigeous, causing people to assume if u don't have them you are not wealthy. Its crazy how influential things can be.

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

Spotify has greatly changed the way i listen to music. it is so easy to acces all songs on there and you can listen whilst not having wifi. a lot of new artists gain fame on spotify aswell! This service is amazing #S22POPMUS

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

@HaqueTasnimah very good take, the lifestyles of artists always looks so luxurious which is unobtainable for the average person. Love that point, no one genre is better than the other, all preference to the one listening to it.

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

@SnookZack I agree completely, gang violence is certainly a false need created especially by the rap community! there truly Is a genre for everyone, music could never be set to one "dummed down" genre.

[Riley Furey @rileyfurey7]

Some false needs that popular music puts out are the needs for wealth, fame, sometimes drugs. Rap music specifically portrays a lot of luxury and drug related lifestyle that is bad and unobtainable to most. no I don't believe so because there are genres for everyone. #S22POPMUS
