@_imdawon@zeddotdev The ecosystem and editor itself has really matured now. I donβt find myself reaching for anything outside of it during day to day programming, or longing for something I had on VS Code. Itβs pretty much full parity.
It feels lightning fast and super light. 10/10.
@heyandras@Railway Genuinely one of the most frustrating things about the tech/eng community on X is that too many companies/people use others misfortunate as an opportunity to promote themselves. Even worse when their "alternative" is an inferior solution (as it is so often is).
@matisanengineer It is not unreasonable to expect a very critical piece of software to do what is expected of it. Regardless of your experiences as an engineer, it is fair to be annoyed by GH's poor performance. There isn't really an excuse for it. GH should simply just do better.
@matisanengineer The (reasonable) expectation is that, regardless of ones own achievements or capabilities, GitHub, with its experienced engineering team and significant financial investment, IS expected to be able to scale software at the kind of scale they are currently failing to do so.
@morsemoney I get the name change and all of that, but literally all I want is a simple way to send money to friends and family across the country. When can we expect the app to come out of private beta in the UK?
The one thing about life in the UK that always gets me: The quality of life ceiling is incredibly high if you know how to access it. Great transport links, world-class museums, diverse food scene, green spaces everywhere. But you have to be intentional about using it. Passive living here is expensive and grey. Active living here is exceptional.
@_mimo_to@heliumbrowser Zen I use on my personal Macbook a bit because it is still a pleasant, feature-rich browser that just feels very pretty and nice to use. Helium is my browser on my work Macbook because I need something that is light, and works, not something that is pretty.
1. Speedreader.
Speedreader strips out all the clutter from web articles (ads, sidebars, popups) and shows you just the text, loading faster in the process. Think of it as a "clean reading mode" that works before the page even fully loads.
You can toggle it via the icon in the address bar whenever Brave detects a page it can simplify.
