I think it’s a very poor idea generally. I’m friends with other officers across the CAF because of the years I lived with them and those relationships have greased many wheels

If I’m controlling, the assessment is does the gun meet my requirements for air support? The M61 and GAU-22 have done everything I’ve asked of them.

I would take a 4 shot pylon of JAGM over the gun any day for the peer fight, and I would take 30x113 as a much lighter way to deliver 1100 rounds in the counter insurgency fight.

I couldn’t care less about the A-10s gun in an A-A role, it’s meaningless on the modern battlefield.
