I've seen a lot of inappropriate and stupid questions by prosecutors over the years. I can't recall a more outrageous one than invoking a specific religion, challenging the witness' good-faith practice/adherence to that religion and then a point blank statement to the jury that the defendant is charged with committing a crime that the religion deems a "mortal sin." That is mistrial territory and something a first year prosecutor knows not to do. How is this person trying a case as challenging and complex as the Lindsay Clancy case?
As a psychiatrist:
The Li*dsay Cla*cy case is a textbook example of extended suicide.
A mother in the depths of severe postpartum depression killed her three children as part of her own suicidal crisis.
This is not malice but it is profound mental illness.
We must treat perinatal psychiatric emergencies with the same urgency as heart attacks.

Respectfully, @djunaperkins, this is a political cheap shot and beneath your dignity.
You know nothing about the federal investigation, what evidence they had, how they investigated and why they got involved.
I had never met @adamdeitch before the Read case, but I am supporting him in this race because he has displayed the ethics, judgment and experience that are necessary to be district attorney.
In an office that featured festering incompetence and poor judgment, Adam is the breath of fresh air that is necessary to establish the office’s credibility and commitment to justice.
You owe him an apology.
@DoctorTurtleboy Pyle has this calm confidence where you can tell he believes in every word he’s saying. Matter-of-fact and completely in control. Worth every dime. video c/o @GrantSmithEllis
Here is a picture of Michael Proctor sitting outside his deposition on June 25 pretending to have a panic attack so that he could avoid going back in. He is now alleging that this information came from Karen Read, but as you can see from this still photograph, it obviously came from another source who witnessed this public display of shame.
@DropMicrodots@craigmelvin I guarantee if you watched the second trial, gavel-to-gavel, with no outside noise, just the trial itself, you’d realize how out of pocket those questions really were today.
Norfolk DA candidate Adam Deitch is calling for DA Michael Morrissey’s resignation “effective immediately” after concerning text messages between cops investigating Karen Read came to light. https://t.co/4zLy4qVxWH
