@safruw late deposits are normal, but a 20 point gap between $50M and $60M says the market doesn't fully believe in a big last minute whale rush either
@DmitroCP NVIDIA investing in its own customers so they can buy more NVIDIA chips is the part that should worry people. works great right up until someone stops paying rent
@getmoat 8 million copies and a Grammy, and the label still had her in debt. the contract was built so the artist pays for everything and the house always gets paid first
@HeroOkMan splitting the last $40 million between two companies that were both about to die sounds insane on paper. if either one fails, that's the dumbest decision in business history
@KupresTilz16899 living off stand-up for 22 years and never touching the Tonight Show money is the part that gets me. most people would have upgraded everything the first year
@zerodoubts0 $14 million owed vs $48,612 offered is not a rounding error. a 92 year old changing her estate papers the month she died is exactly what courts should look at hard
Ron Baron met Musk in 2010 and figured Tesla would probably fail. four years later he bought anyway, at roughly 10 times the IPO price, and his firm has made about $7 billion on it.
in the clip below Baron explains what changed his mind.
Tesla came public at $17 a share. he kept watching, and by 2014 it was around $75.
then he spent a couple of hours with Musk at the Fremont factory.
"i said, oh my God, i made a terrible mistake. i really need to invest in this company."
the stock didn't wait for him. it doubled or tripled again, to $175 or $200 a share, before he moved.
"i said, i can't take it anymore, we're buying stock."
Baron Capital put $400 million in between 2014 and 2016, buying mostly from short sellers, he says. the profit so far is between $6 billion and $8 billion.
and he expects to make 5 times that on Tesla over the next 10 years.
conviction worth paying up for - or a lucky bet on one man?
@checkpoint_gg_@Polymarket@PolymarketTrade logging out and keeping only a working balance on the site is the boring advice that would have saved most of those 700 accounts
@CRYPTIC_X0 $2.77B leaving exchange wallets with no statement isn't proof of anything yet. the Polymarket part is the real warning, same weak spot twice in four months
