@navinsharmacse Apart from building an indigenous social media, app store like the successful proliferation of UPI, what other systems are left to be indiginised, that lend themselves well to proliferation?
TINA (There Is No Alternative), that is why we use it.
Thoughts?
@Fintech03 The destination is real, but the landscape is shaped entirely by the walking. If the mountain is flattened overnight, we are left standing on a peak we never learned to climb, staring at a horizon we do not recognize.
@miroyato Can we generate a list of programs we want open sourced?
This post is a great start.
Anyone interested in open-source customized small business and individual friendly software?

@funtyx_ This is really cool, how did you go about mapping the constraints and rules for road shape and layout?
Trying to extract airport designs from their airport faa submitted layouts and trace into them to build markings and runways
@rajatsandeepsen The village identity, family, culture and unit is a great scale to work at, as things can spread through word of mouth in surrounding villages.
Can lower the need for central gov support and reinvigorate a culture we had in ancient India, that lives on in few villages today.
@rajatsandeepsen I think in India, a centralised well design site can be a plus, but what about taking advantage of the thousands of gram panchayats in villages and towns around each state and giving agency at the village level?
Then network scale it to states and nation.
A grassroots plan
@adamgries This reminds me of William Harvey's experiment to demonstrate that the heart acts as a pump and that blood circulates continuously through the body
Also this discussion, makes me think about The Island (2004), a movie which grows humans to be organ supplies for the wealthy.
@irat1onal@adamgries Very true , in a 2004 movie called The Island, they visualise growing a full circulatory system, but not shown is the intricacies of the nervous system grown in organ vessels for harvesting.
The movie's plot is similar to the topics of this discussion about age of donors.
@Fintech03 Very true, making yourself essential to a fault to a product or service's success is key to longevity.
The more value that you contribute to the overall service that a team provides to society, the less probability of being let go, because you're someone they can't do without.
@mellowpropanex Protecting our collective information space is not heavy lifting when we share the load.
Panchayats have worked, now is time to draw on this for a wider purpose.
If you are interested in this and want to contribute to this, msg me and share this like minded people.
(8/8).
@mellowpropanex Well, we all know what the issue is here.
Lack of resources allocated to combating false narratives. Leads to delayed response, like police getting to a crime long after the criminal left.
How do you propose we can better inform and educate our citizens (1/8)
@mellowpropanex You don't need a massive research desk to fight narratives. If a post is missing context, reply with a clean, verified link and engage with the cns promoting ones with credible evidence (7/8).
@mellowpropanex Budding false narratives start in predictable low-trust echo chambers before scaling to mainstream feeds.
They heavily rely on recycling old clips from entirely different regions or years as we have seen. See one, run a reverse image search or check the clothing/weather (6/8).
@mellowpropanex Indian villages have already solved local government through the Panchayat Model and thrived because local communities solved problems locally without waiting for distant capitals.
Drawing on this pre-existing system, we can adapt this to these narrative subversions (5/8).
