Now, let me tell you something they don’t teach in school:
There is no “good” and “bad” cholesterol. There is cholesterol. LDL and HDL are not types of cholesterol, they are more like “transporters”. More like conveying mediums.
HDL works by carrying “excess” cholesterol from peripheral tissues back to the liver for processing and excretion (as in bile). It also has antioxidant properties.
Simplified, LDL works by carrying cholesterol to peripheral tissues. Cholesterol is essential for building cells and hormones.
LDL is not a bad guy, LDL is like a fire fighter who showed up to work. Whenever there is inflammation, LDL is likely to move in, it has its functions, that doesn’t make it bad. Depending on the nature of the inflammation, large amount of LDL can be mobilized, this is not a good thing as too much of anything in particular is bad.
When this happens the problem is not LDL, LDL is just a competent worker. Handling LDL is not the solution, it’s handling the inflammation. Handling the triggers, what is causing the spike. That’s how you get better.
Loading yourself with statins and not handling the cause of inflammation is you wasting your money and time. You will keep taking the drugs. Except you handle the root cause.
Bottom line:
Meat (red meat, white meat) does not cause any diseases. Eat cooked meat. If you’re to fry, use good oil. Seed oils predisposes us more to inflammation, later we think it’s the meat. We still overlook the real problem itself.
Brief pause from our fight for liberation to point out that:

Our team of medics has come up with something that will revolutionize imaging especially in triage. In busy imaging centers, time is everything.
AI-powered triage instantly flags critical scans, prioritizes urgent cases, and streamlines radiologist workflows—cutting down delays, boosting diagnostic accuracy, and saving lives.
No more guesswork. Just precision and speed where it matters most.
This is the future of radiology. Let’s bring it to your facility. @fnoluga@psmuthoni@HonAdenDuale
As of today, interns' salaries have been updated in their payslips, aligning with the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Furthermore, 50% of the basic salary arrears are now being disbursed, with Kwale County (via KCB Bank) leading as the first to reflect these payments.
Fees have also been paid for 44 doctors, ensuring their ability to pursue their professional development without financial strain. A budget of Ksh. 65 million has also been set aside to support registrars, who are encouraged to submit their documents without delay to benefit from this allocation.
We are closely monitoring the disbursement process, and we expect all doctors across the counties to receive their payments by Monday or Tuesday next week. This progress is a testament to the dedication and collective strength of our union, and we remain steadfast in our pursuit of equity, respect, and fairness in the medical profession.
Mr. President we have a problem;
With a BLOATED medical bill of Ksh. 95,870, SHA is paying a paltry Ksh. 8,960, leaving the patient to settle a whooping Ksh. 86,910?
Can Kenyans be told exactly what SHA covers and what it doesn't?
Do we really care?
