Wow! I had no idea that was a possible explanation for dark matter! Asteroid to small Moon massed black holes spread throughout the universe. Hawking radiation at that size is hard to detect and they evaporate at a rate long compared to the age of the universe so they might still be left over from the early formation of the universe by a kind of a Darwinian process (survival bias). Did I get that about right @WKCosmo ?

Etc" because starship will be even more "box standard" and lower cost. f9 has a new 2nd stage each time. Starship does not.

@BigImpactHumans @SpaceX A fully fueled starship in LEO can reach solar system escape velocity. I get a V infinity of 1.3km/s. It might take 2.3 million years to reach 10 light years distance. This is without a boost from a planet flyby.

This is exactly how it looked to the naked eye btw these colors, the yellow and pink were easily visible.

I tried to look at it through binoculars but my hands wouldn’t stop shaking with excitement 😭

NEWS: Tesla wants to build solar panels from scratch in Texas and the plans are massive.

A new public filing lays out the whole thing. Tesla is calling it Project Crystal Sun and it would rise on about 3,000 acres in Fort Bend County, just outside Houston.

What makes it stand out is that Tesla would do everything in one place. It would start with raw silicon and carry it all the way to finished solar panels, instead of relying on parts shipped in from overseas.

The size of the bet is about $10.1 billion. Around $1.5 billion goes to land and buildings and $8.6 billion goes to equipment. Tesla wants to break ground this year, finish in 2028 and start making solar cells in early 2029.

Once it is fully running, the plant would employ 9,712 people, with the average job paying around $122,000 a year. At the busiest point of construction, another 1,147 workers would be on site.

The effect on Texas is where it gets big. The filing estimates the plant would add about $107 billion to the state's economy, lift local earnings by $68 billion, support more than 13,000 jobs in total and bring in around $6.4 billion in state and local taxes over time.

And there is a bigger goal behind it. Back in January, at the World Economic Forum, Elon Musk said the Tesla and SpaceX teams are each working to build up to 100 gigawatts a year of solar power made in America. He figured that would take about three years. This factory is a step toward that.
