Such matters need nuanced handling. This isn’t about a woke mindset but balancing growth and leaving a planet that the next generation is proud to inherit. Both aren’t mutually exclusive and need constructive dialogue and debate. There are merits to the argument on both sides.

We need to learn from our friends at the RBI, a regulator that is known for its tough stance. Their policies helped safeguard Indian banks at the time of the Lehman crisis.

A lack of regulation and strict compliance in India has meant extensive data mining and using the public as a guinea pig for many trials, including those involving personal data.

This also extends to artificial intelligence and large language models that are governed currently by an outdated copyright law which is actively being abused to train fronteir AI models.

In the same breath wanting to save the planet while asking for responsible and ethical behaviour is an absolutely fair ask. Not saying there aren’t notorious elements but we still need to make room for debate and discussion.

Again lots to learn here from the US laws on outsourcing of manufacturing. Sure, they aren’t perfect but still show a direction in which ethics and growth can go hand-in-hand.

Also, there are well documented instances of large tech giants abusing lack of regulation and compliance for personal greed (popularlry argued as, pushing the agenda on innovation).

Sure compliance must not stifle innovation, but lack of it also must not provide for grounds to create a world of no checks and balances.

Growth, can be argued, is sustainble only when it benefits the masses. And no better example than PayTM, Vijay.

@AmexIndia Your services have gone to dogs. Being a platinum card holder it feels like you are doing me a great favor of accepting 60k as card fee and issuing me a card. There is no response to complaints and on each follow up same information is asked again and again. Your TATs hold no meaning.
You sent me some @YatraOfficial voucher basis certain spends, when I tried to use them it did not work, hence reached out to your so called support channel. I havnt heard back a single time, each time I have to reach out and provide same information.
Its not about the voucher but the way things are handled…..makes me feel like 💩

@IndiGo6E : Booked ticket with “Indigo upfront” (Rs.3k/person extra), wasnt able to checkin online (tried immediately after booking) as only 1 available seat was shown. Called call center they said checkin at airport. At airport initially I was assigned seat 29, then I said its upfront, was offered emergency exit as no front seats were available!!! Whats the point of selling ticket and collecting extra if you dont have available seats?

What you seem to be telling me is that you have 6 upfront seat in a flight, however you will sell upto 180 (Or the max number of seats in the aircraft) as “upfront” with additional charge (even if the first 6 seats are already booked) and leave it to the passengers to jostle with “fastest finger first”.
