@MattZeitlin The technology is good. The speculative markets are not. It's a shame it gets conflated. Most of the people losing money are likely not the salt of the earth type, though some are.
@nytimes You could accurately use the same fear-mongering headline about your own stock chart... Crypto is a mess rn, but come on, you're journalists, don't be so emotionally manipulative.
@AlecStapp Need to look at who is buying, how much they're borrowing, and whether they should be able to. The last crisis was driven by artificially inflated prices due to lending practices. That could be happening again, but this chart says nothing.
@ne0liberal They understand that we are also in a heavily propagandized environment and are skeptical of the info they're fed. Don't blame them, us older folks built this environment for them.
@Popehat@nytimes@nytimes certainly you understand that speech in and of itself can suppress speech. Marginalized voices are stifled in discursive environments where loud, angry, historically empowered voices 'free speech' is invoked to intimidate and silence them.

@BruceBartlett There's definitely something off about the survey methodology (probably a design flaw, maybe a low quality sample that wasn't scrubbed well). Would have to see the original survey copy to assess
