Today we’re launching @runpraxis (YC F26), AI agents that run law firm operations, from first inquiry to paid invoice.
Law firms spend 62% of their time on admin tasks they don’t bill.
With Praxis, agents do the admin end to end, and the lawyer supervises and approves every step.

We tried JEV on law firms email 📩. Here's what happened.
Jev is the new classification model from @typesafeai that became VIRAL in the tech community. It answers typed questions about a piece of text + gets a confidence score + it happens in a fraction of a second.
Every law firm inbox needs to get sorted:
- New lead or existing client?
- Which client, which matter?
- Document, payment, deadline or message?
- Does a lawyer need to see it?
What changed for us:
- Sorting a firm's inbox history went from 3 minutes to 1 second ⭐️
- Every classification get a confidence score 📈
Email is a law firm's unsorted system of record: client conversations, documents, signed letters, deadlines, payment confirmations. Until it's sorted, nothing downstream can run on its own.
At @runpraxis, we bring the latest technology AI to the least glamorous part of a law firm: the inbox.
We haven't seen anyone else in legal software using Jev yet. Are you?
It's SF tech week & Legal tech is having a moment!
Questions that keep coming up:
→ How do I evaluate legal tech vendors and know they fit how my firm actually works?
→ We already use Claude or ChatGPT. What does a legal tech tool add on top?
→ How do I keep client data secure and protect privilege?
My take:
🤝 The best vendors adapt to your processes, but they also tell you when a process is inefficient compared to what they see across the market. When you evaluate a vendor, check whether they push back or only try to close. Legal tech vendors should be trusted partners, don't just try to sell the tech
🔍 Most firms already have Claude or ChatGPT switched on, so the real question is what a tool does beyond them. Run both side by side on your own workflows. The differences show up in 4 places:
- depth of integrations
- depth of workflows
- ease of use
- proactive agents (Claude/GPT remain mainly reactive as you prompt them!)
🔐 Security is a very important topic in the legal space and legal tech firms need to adapt and treat it as a requirement. Firms need to know which questions to ask: where the data is stored, whether it is used to train models, and who can access it.

Exciting news: @runpraxis (aka Praxis) is joining @ycombinator!
Maxence and I have been dreaming of becoming entrepreneurs for years and this dream finally came true; we’re more motivated than ever and ready to transform the legal market.
The legal work is being automated as we speak, so what's become the law firm’s differentiator?
It's the client journey: how fast the firm responds to the first inquiry and the follow-ups, how simple the document exchange feels, and how clear the next steps are. Because this is how you build trust.
So we decided to build @runpraxis, AI that runs a law firm's client journey.
The lawyer supervises and approves, AI handles the admin work in between, and the client watches their matter move in real time.
❤️ If you’re working at a law firm, don’t be a stranger! We’re shipping fast and always looking for more feedback on what we do.
🙏 To everyone who believed in us, and challenged us: thank you for bringing us here! Special thanks @dessaigne & @nemild for your trust!
Onwards!
