Here’s a video of CBum doing Incline Dumbbell Bench Press from yesterday with 100 pound dumbbells
Not 110s
Not 120s
Not 150s
Not 180s
100s
You might be wondering…
Why is he “only” using 100s and how did he manage to get in close proximity to failure while “only” completing 10 reps with that weight?
I’m sure you’ve seen guys at your local gym with a FRACTION of the muscle he’s got do more weight than that for more reps on this exact exercise…
Here’s the reason:
Because he actually did the exercise PROPERLY
So many guys go in the gym and just sling weight around
They create mechanical advantages and ultimately do whatever it takes to move the weight from Point A to Point B with little-no actual movement intentionality
They do a great job of training their ego but not that great a job of training the muscle(s) they’re (presumably) trying to grow — and by “not that great a job” I mean “a terrible job”
So, the next time you should find yourself reaching for the 100 pound dumbbells just prior to a set of Incline Dumbbell Bench Press be sure to remind yourself that Mr fucking Olympia (Classic) does that exact weight
Unless you can pull it off with anywhere as good of technique…PERHAPS RECONSIDER!
This is one of my favorite speeches of all time…
It always hits me hard:
“You get up every day—you’re entitled to nothing. Nobody owes you nothing. You could have talent, but if you don’t have discipline, and you don’t execute, you don’t focus… What do you get? Nothing. If you’re complacent and not paying attention to detail… What does that get you? Nothing. So nothing is acceptable but your best.”
This is a harsh reality of life:
Talent is meaningless without discipline.
Ambition is worthless without execution.
Focus is the difference between potential and reality.
You’re not entitled to success—it’s earned in the quiet, thankless moments when no one is watching.
The antidote to entitlement is relentless ownership.
Show up fully. Pay attention to the details. Do your best—every single day.
Because in a world where everyone wants the reward, it’s those who refuse to accept anything less than their best who build something worth being proud of.

Turns out, AI isn't making us more productive. It's making us cognitively bankrupt.
Here's what 4 months of data revealed:
(hint: we've been measuring productivity all wrong)
Knee pain on your squats/leg press motions?
ESPECIALLY if you want bigger quads…read this.
First thing I’d look at is your control into the bottom position.
Right as you’re fully loading that quad in the lengthened range here.
Make sure you’re not just “divebombing” and using excessive momentum.
What ends up happening is you’re using more elasticity/stretch reflex to get you out the bottom more so than actual muscle tissue.
Drop some load, control the end range as you get into deep knee flexion.
THEN get stronger over time in this much more controlled fashion.
Quads will grow and you’ll have less knee issues.
Win Win.
You’re going to get ~75% of what you need (for about 2-3 ish days) from a regional hypertrophy standpoint just by doing 1 set of a single exercise in a single session
2 sets kicks it up to ~90%
3 sets kicks it up to ~99% (the point of maximum yield)
At a certain point, the returns aren’t even diminishing anymore…they’re going to transition to NEGATIVE on a NET BASIS
Remember:
It is WAY BETTER to perform 3 sets of a given exercise TWICE week spread 72-96 hours apart than it is to perform 6 sets of a given exercise ONCE per week — this would mean only hitting that muscle group from that joint angle once every 168 hours
NOTE: Don’t hyper fixate on the specifics of the pictures…just the concept of diminishing returns and the outsized fatigue cost (relative to stimulus accrued) with each passing set
Viewing morning sunlight is vitally important in the fall & winter months, especially when overcast. Keep in mind that your circadian biology is the foundation of all your mental states, focus, mood & energy. Don’t stare at the sun. Blink to protect your eyes. Do it. Every day.
Historically speaking, the S&P 500 returns +15% within a year of the 1st rate cut if there is no recession.
If there is a recession, the S&P 500 loses -15% in the first year, on average.
As shown below, the Fed needs a "soft landing" to avoid a major market downturn.

How To Rewire Your Brain To Wake Up Early.
From a soon to be released full discussion where I was on @ChrisWillx podcast; this excerpt explains how to do it (with a minimum of strain.)

The best way to neutralize our natural impatience is to cultivate a kind of pleasure in pain—like an athlete, you come to enjoy rigorous practice, pushing past your limits, and resisting the easy way out.
If you aren't feeling motivated
This is your protocol
VISUALIZE failure for 1-5 minutes
Think about terrible you'll feel if you don't achieve your goal
"By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may eventually get to be a boss and work twelve hours a day." — Robert Frost, American poet and winner of four Pulitzer Prizes
PRODUCTIVITY PROTOCOL
90-minute work bouts
Treat these as holy
90 minutes is about what the brain can handle in terms of a high degree of cognitive effort
If you truly lock in
You'd be amazed how much work you can get done
World Premiere of Amazon — Market. Power! Monopoly?
This documentary will show you how Amazon uses its size and power to raise prices, for you, the consumer.
The documentary follows four sellers on Amazon, two in Europe, two in the US, and their journey to survive on the platform.
It begins with an explanation of Amazon's pricing policies and the complex way Amazon enforces them.
Watch this foundational beginning section carefully and your mind will be blown later in the documentary when you see what goes on behind the scenes, when you click buy.
This is an extremely important documentary. Amazon responds to fair criticism and it is my hope, that with your support that we can change Amazon's policies.
So sellers can set their own prices.
And so you can pay less when you shop online.

I'd like to thank all who made this film possible.
A special thank you and respect goes out to the sellers who appeared. It takes a lot of guts and conviction to stand up to one of the world's most powerful companies.

Thank you and enjoy!
What many people perceive as a focus problem is often a thoroughness problem. One route to improving focus is to *direct your efforts to thoroughness without the expectation of focus arriving first*. Put simply, thoroughness improves focus, no matter how slow the process may be.
