@rowlandsbb@Joe_Rich Worth mentioning that the retrospective tax called the #LoanChargeScandal did nothing to stop tax avoidance because it targets the wrong people. 11 suicides
@HMRCgovuk HMRC obviously really struggling for political capital regarding #loanchargescandal when they frame this as a discount to gullible press. It's a 'discount' on a bill that has not been proven because HMRC don't want to investigate all the parties at fault including themselves.
#hmrc Would you like to comment on the recent news article on 5+ years of errors in your customer account systems before demanding outrageous, disputed amounts?
An account which is consistent with my own investigation into #loancharge. Those who promoted these schemes walked away richer. Locum nurses and a host of other workers on modest incomes (who were effectively told they had to sign up in order to be paid) were plunged into despair
@BBCPolitics If student loan interest rates are egregious at RPI+3% @LucyMPowell, what about #LoanChargeScandal victims paying RPI+4%....over unlimited period.
In spite of Labour, in opposition, describing as "mis-selling" & promising 'independent' Review, #McCannReview anything but.
We implore you @andyburnham to start looking at the #LoanChargeScandal now over 20 years old. Ask @darrenpjones and @JohnHealey_MP to step in now to legislate to draw the line on this failed policy now costing the taxpayer and simultaneously still destroying lives. #misselling
We’re pleased that the Public Accounts Committee has written to John Paul Marks, First Permanent Secretary of HMRC, about the costs of the #LoanCharge.
The fundamental thing is that HMRC must give their cost estimate of resolving all remaining cases.

@Dan4Barnet You had such an opportunity, such a gift.
But for thousands you just carried on Tory policies and approach. Deaths will follow.
Shameful.
#LoanChargeScandal
@JohnHealey_MP Will you keep @UKLabour promise of a "Truly independent review" into the #LoanChargeScandal? There has already been 1 further suicide under Labour due to this unprecedented unjust retrospective tax
