USN submariner (ETR2/SS), live and breathe code, Linux professional.
Mastodon: prefer bluesky.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

Yes. That's the submarine I was stationed on in my profile pic. They didn't normally allow lounging around up top while underway, but we were in the Suez Canal so they relaxed the rules a bit.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@RyanEls4 Strongly disagree. Leads to people posting unrelated unnecessary images.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@kmcnam1 I went with Vader on this one.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@RyanEls4 He didn't claim it would be written well, performant, or widely used.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

I never thought I'd see the day @Microsoft decided to let @code be better than @VisualStudio to develop for a Microsoft technology, but it looks like VS has thrown in the towel on SDK style SQL Projects.

@USN_Submariner Which button fires the torpedoes and which launches the missiles?

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

I don't know who wrote the UI for @CircleKStores , but if I'm smacking the 87 button several times, then no, I don't want a damn car wash.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@sarrah_bellus NGL. I want in on this.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@RyanEls4 Big fan of @digitalocean myself if you are looking for a VPS or K8S cluster service. If you're looking for pre-installed services like AWS or Azure on the cheap, it probably won't suit your needs.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@USN_Submariner @grok Downside to being a radioman when it comes to photos... Almost no pictures of my workspace without a bunch of Naugahyde covers in the shot.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

Something is wrong with the @amazon mobile app. I went to search for USB C cables and the results spit out slowly like an LLM was trying to figure out one by one which results to display.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@internetofshit @DuckDuckGo steps up to the plate...

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

Does Twitter have an option to just block everyone with a blue checkmark?

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@USN_Submariner Purebred broom closet. No mops, buckets, or other cleaning supplies allowed.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

2023 me had no idea what 2026 had in mind. Though the higher MPG makes the prices pretty much break even per mile.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

My response when people ask me why I bought a diesel car... #fukengruven

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

Added bonus. For over a month now, diesel has been cheaper than regular. (Also, the avg MPG has risen to over 42.)

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

And in the time since then I've found out the standard names are PascalCase and camelCase. (And I can't edit [sic] markers into my old post.)

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

I just read a statement that UpperCamelCase and lowerCamelCase conventions were "put in place by clever people". (C# vs JSON discussion.)

Sure.
Opinionated clever people who obviously don't all share the same opinion.

I needed that laugh today.

2.5 years in and I'm still using the Nulea and the M575 daily. And the Nulea still goes for weeks without recharging. I've only replaced the battery in the Logitech once or twice, so it's still a toss up which I prefer.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

Logitech vs Nulea... Let the games begin.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@CuriosityonX Better camera tech. People can finally stop complaining about the lack of stars.

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@iamdevloper I'll put C# in House Horned Serpent. (Look past Hogwarts.)

[@ryangrange.com on bsky.app @ryangrange]

@PythonPr So Python is the new BASIC?
