I like this article because especially among young children with changing bodies, body image is a hard subject. This helps encourage those around the children to create a positive and healthy environment, especially when measuring physique. @beh353#beh353
Youth #swimmers, body changes, and lycra: a questionable combination. What can we do to help teen swimmers focus more on performance and less on their changing bodies?

@PAalexysf@beh353 Hi Alexys! I also talked about how I will take this on with me in my future. I think it's one of the most important things to make sure we are in good health. As health professionals, we want to stay healthy and energized! @beh353#beh353
Something that nutrition has taught me is how important listening to your body is, and paying attention to what it needs and does not have, and making sure I'm getting nutritional values. @beh353#beh353
I enjoyed @EmmaDArpinoRD’s take on junk food and when we say we should eat something over the other, why not both? I never thought of it that we’d still be getting the same value of the second option if we ate both, and it’s a different way of seeing it. @beh353#beh353
@bella051017@EmmaDArpinoRD@beh353 Hi! I also think evidence is important in research, and it’s critical to provide patients with factual information backed by science. I’m also glad we learned how to find credible sources!! @beh353#beh353
Since the marathon is coming up, I enjoy this article helping out bariatric patients who are looking for tips on participating. It’s a quick read, and gives recommendations for these patients in how to prepare. @beh353#beh353
This article is very interesting & can relate back to FAD diets. This one specifically looks at calorie restriction with those that have fatty liver. @beh353#beh353
New trial on intermittent fasting for fatty liver (NAFLD)
Calorie restriction with vs without fasting (eating only 8am-4pm) = both indistinguishably improved liver fat, HbA1c, blood pressure, cholesterol)
calorie intake was main factor

@EPhamnguyen@beh353 Hi Emily !! I used the same link & I think it helps parents with all aspects of food and children. It’s super helpful for habits, tricks + tips, & good nutrition recommendations @beh353#beh353
I would choose this article because it’s easy to read, and other than foods children should be eating, it gives tips to parents for kids who might be a little more challenging when it comes to food. https://t.co/6MBdLb7rBh

@EPhamnguyen@beh353 Hi Emily ! Totally agree and think we should be listening actively and treating these patients just like any other. They are people too ! Hearing the stories was heartbreaking, and only makes me want to help them. #beh353@beh353
#DidYouKnow? Healthy eating can help you perform at your job better?
Many industries and corporations hire Accredited Sports Dietitians to drive great taste, great health and great fuel for our minds! Good health and wellbeing means happy work and happy life.
@dietitiansaus
Understanding these patients emotions helps us further diagnose and help, and make the patient feel at ease. Never treat patients like those stories we were told, it’s heartbreaking. Hearing about them is important, so we can move away from acting like that. @beh353#beh353
This article was super cool especially relating to this weeks topic of obesity ! It shows and educates people on ultra processed foods and how they shouldn’t all be labeled as “bad” and it’s the ingredients that we should look at. @beh353#beh353
Yes! Ultra-processed foods are at the root of obesity & related disease.
I am going to try to persuade you that it's not because they're ultra-processed.
Start here. As
@ggkuhnle
points out, some UPFs are fine (e.g. whole wheat bread).

@sandra_mcphs@beh353 I agree! I also was shocked to find out what other health conditions obesity can trigger. I was intrigued to find out it can lead to various types of cancer, and also think obesity isn’t taken as seriously as should be. @beh353#beh353
Something interesting I learned was that the percentage of obese people goes up with age. I’ll keep this in mind as time goes on and we get older, focusing on what I put into my body. The most obese being 40-59, it’s good to know now. #beh353@beh353
Something interesting in this article I feel like many women aren’t told about, is how caffeine actually lasts longer in women who are on birth control. Birth control works to “ double the half life”- making it last longer. @beh353#beh353
One of the barriers I can relate to is “lack of time to shop, prepare, and cook healthy foods”. Among college students, this is one of the biggest problems. College students like quick and filling meals- and most don’t have time to prepare or eat foods. #beh353@beh353
@TCardillo44@beh353 This looks soooo good I couldn’t blame you. I also feel like it happens to a lot of kids who are given a meal and expected to eat it no matter what it is. I also feel like socially with friends, it’s almost always fast food or snacks you’re eating. #beh353@beh353
Focusing on this week, this talks about multivitamins and if there really is a benefit to taking them. Most people assume multivitamins are the only thing they need to be taking to be healthy. @beh353#beh353 https://t.co/EypOdiG66o
@EPhamnguyen@beh353 Hi emily !! I also wrote about supplements , but specifically a women’s probiotic. I think it’s good to include that this is not a substitute for natural vitamins in whole food!! @beh353#beh353
