It’s extraordinary to think that I used to donate monthly to @amnesty, a while ago now. How can a once great charity turn into the very thing it used to fight against- a bully?
All over the UK tiny, non profit and non or lowly funded organisations are having to be set up to do the job these once useful organisations did- protect the vulnerable and seek justice and fairness. Knowing many of these brave individuals who are tackling Goliath makes me very proud.
Brava @ToniaAntoniazzi and all the MPs who have supported this EDM , standing up for our lawful and legitimate groups.
We’ll be VERY interested to see which MPs agree that it’s deeply concerning that the Amnesty report depicts grassroots women’s rights groups (and others) as ‘anti-rights’, and dehumanises and defames us.
In 2024, one of our Afghan women contacts was supporting victims of horrific violence, rape and torture in Taliban prisons with translations for court processes.

"It is beyond comprehension that a supposed human rights organisation would genuinely consider the work done by Beira's Place could be classed as anti-rights or targeting the rights of women"
@jk_rowling demands action from Amnesty on its defamatory claims

Being called "far right" is offensive to everyone on Amnesty's list. For socialist feminists like Labour Women's Declaration — already distanced by many of their former comrades for defending women's rights — it's a particular betrayal. https://t.co/5yj3GvJzTY
💥LATEST UPDATE💥 WRN’s Fair Sports listings of 72 sports’ governing bodies funded by @Sport_England, with public money, show a total of 35 sports have either:
❌ unlawful policies
❌ two-tier policies (protect elite categories but not grassroots or recreational sport)
❌ no policy at all.
Thirty-seven sports HAVE complied with the law and are fair for females. In 2023, when we started our Fair Sports listings, only SIX sports excluded males from the female category.
Sports have run out of excuses. The law is the law. The ‘guidance’ is there. Every sport must follow the law and stop allowing males to self-identify into the female category.
Find out if your sport is fair on our Sports webpage. If your sport is unfair, write to the CEO and ask why the sport does not comply with the law. Let us know what they say at [email protected]

Thread🧵on Amnesty's recent history of opposing women's sex-based rights, and on the entirely inadequate stock reply that Amnesty has just sent to all those of us who had written to ask for evidence of the slurs they published about us.
“I’m not interested in scaremongering" says @oliviabaileymp.
Sadly, her draft Conversion Practices Ban Bill is in itself scaremongering vulnerable young people to wrongly believe that adults who care about them, especially parents, are out to harm them.

“The damage done by this [Amnesty] report is huge. Bad actors continue to share archives online, and the lies & threats targeted at FWS & other groups are increasing as a result.
We believe a correction and apology is the very minimum we should all expect”

Five months after the FWS Supreme Court ruling, an NHS trust issued a 22-page policy ignoring it.
“In a job where lives depend on speed and clear communication, imagine having to worry about remembering to call a man ‘she’.” @DerryBanShee in @Telegraph

A lot of words have been written about what is happening with Amnesty but for those not following it closely, it can be summed up thus:
If you believe that Lexi Secker below is a man, Amnesty will brand you as ‘anti-rights’.
We also emailed @amnesty last week following their libellous characterisation of LWD & other feminist, LGB, parent & clinician orgs as 'anti rights', on the basis of us being 'gender critical' or promoting 'conversion practices'.
This latter accusation is particularly egregious given the govt's recent publication of a badly drafted CP Ban Bill which would criminalise the concerns of parents & feminists like ourselves who oppose the harms to young people of puberty blockers & "gender affirming" care.
Along with @LesbianLabour & @LabourLGB, we are socialists & feminists who reject the sexist stereotypes of the gender identity politics which has, sadly, crept into much of the left & parts of the @UKLabour party.
All polling shows we reflect the views of the majority of Labour members & voters - and, probably, of Amnesty supporters too.
We await with interest Amnesty's prompt reply to our letter...
Wales WRN and @LGBAllies_Cymru were recently invited to meet @Sioned_W Deputy First Minister of Wales and Social Justice and Equality Minister.🏴
Her commitment to full legal compliance to deliver women's and girls' rights was welcome - but we were clear, this must happen NOW.
There is no excuse for 'waiting', this is not ‘complex’, and the law needs no further ‘review’.
We were equally clear that continued engagement is a requirement, not an aspiration.
Diolch Sioned. Our letter fully sets out our position.👇
It's peculiar that Amnesty, who must surely be aware of the Supreme Court judgement, chose to act contrary to the law. When challenged by @SexMattersOrg Amnesty hastily removed the documents from view.
Also, why (apart from the prospect of lucrative income) is Amnesty seeking to provide training?
Sex Matters has written to @amnesty@AmnestyUK about the two reports "A growing threat" and "Like a snowball" which accuse the UK gender critical movement of being "anti-rights".
We point out the arguments published under Amnesty’s name are:
🚨 Defamatory slurs against named organisations
🚨Explicit encouragement to donors and the Charity Commission to discriminate unlawfully
🚨Discriminatory and harassing against Amnesty's own gender-critical staff
🚨Contrary to statutory safeguarding guidance for schools that Amnesty seeks to work with
🚨Inconsistent with the objects of the charity.
Admirable campaign @unitetheunion.
"Unite is demanding that women and girls have period dignity"
BUT ... Exactly how does this work with your policy "trans men are men"?
Are you finally backing down on this absurd stance? Or do women and girls claiming a male identity not deserve period dignity?
Which is it?
(And don't even think of changing it to 'people who bleed'!)
An NHS ambulance trust is still allowing transgender staff to self-identify into toilets, showers and changing facilities based on gender identity.
My latest @Telegraph - which I wasn't expecting to go online until tomorrow. It's rather timely, given my earlier post about the online abuse I've received from ambulance trust staff - simply for asking legitimate questions about women's sex-based rights.
The female paramedics I spoke to for this article told me they are afraid to raise concerns about policies requiring them to share single-sex facilities with male colleagues who identify as women - or to question guidance requiring staff to affirm gender identity.
The Trust says its policies are under review - more than a year after the Supreme Court clarified that, for the purposes of the Equality Act, the terms "woman" and "sex" refer to biological sex.
