I think it's because there is so much to learn. You will NEVER know everything. There will always be people that know more than you
You also don't see the struggles and mistakes of others, only your own. This gives you the misconception that you are not good enough
My 2 cents
When you ask a great master or a real expert for advice, they give you seemingly vague or non-specific answers, they shun being prescriptive. What they think matters is not what you believe matters. Further, they know you will misinterpret a specific answer.
"How does Google hire engineers? We should consider copying what works for them."
Almost always the wrong take.
