مدرسوں میں بچوں کے ساتھ جنسی اور جسمانی تشدد کی روز کوئی نہ کوئی خبر آتی ہے آج @WhoAhmadRajput کی ٹائم لائن پر جو بچے پر تشدد کی وڈیو دیکھی ناقابلِ بیان دردناک ہے۔ خدادا حکومت اس طرف توجہ دے پاکستان کے لاکھوں بچے مدرسے میں پروان چڑھتے ہیں ہر مدرسے میں چائلڈ پروٹیکشن کے اہلکار تعینات ہونا چاہئے جو ان بچوں کی حفاظت و تربیت پر کڑی نظر رکھیں ۔

For the past 24+ hours, a UK-based gang lead by an individual claiming to be a UK councillor and JAAC leader/fund collector, has been leading a sustained campaign of abuse, intimidation, harassment, and threats.
My fault?
My work and commentary on the Kashmir issue and my criticism of few leaders of the Joint Awami Action Committee for their anti-Pakistan, provocative and harmful-to-the-Kashmir-cause violent campaign.
That person’s conduct has also included attempts to provoke hostility and create divisions between Pakistanis and Kashmiris.

Other than adapting a legal course in the UK and Pakistan against that hate monger, I am placing this on record so the public can judge for themselves how some who claim to represent a peaceful cause are actually violent and vile inside.
Masking as peaceful activists, they respond with abuse and threats of violence to criticism and dissenting voices.

This is neither the first time nor, I suspect, the last that I have been targeted for expressing my views. But it did not silence me before, and it will not silence me now.

Can you please enlighten us on why 127 cuts were recommended for the film Panjab '95?

The same film, now renamed ‘Satluj’, has been taken down from an OTT platform in less than two days. The CBFC has no jurisdiction over OTT platforms or international releases.

Panjab '95 tells the story of Jaswant Singh Khalra, a man who exposed documented human rights abuses and paid for it with his life. If a film based on documented facts cannot be seen by Indian audiences, then the public deserves to know why.

This sends a very direct message to filmmakers and production companies: if you're paying homage to a great personality from a minority community, you'll have to face the CBFC.

Journalists should be asking the people running this censor board some hard questions. Why are some politically insensitive films able to pass with ease while others spend years in limbo?

A red carpet for Kashmir Files, Bengal Files, and Kerala Story. Roses for Dhurandar 1 & 2, a fictional documentary/explainer for the unthinkable and the unexplainable.

How does it feel to feast on four years of a director's career?

In Nehru's India, this would have been litigated in court. If filmmakers cannot tell the stories of people who stood up for justice without years of obstruction, what kind of cinema are we encouraging them to make?
