@drjasonfung I always eat "naked carbs". Bowls of rice, root vegetables and fruit and juice. My Hb1ac is 25mmol/mol. :)
It improved after i eliminate excess fat and fiber from my diet. Im not particularly active.
@Devahut03@Nurse_burna Liposuction has detrminetal health implications. It removes subcutaneous fat. If the energy imbalance continues, thermodynamics dictate overtime visceral fat will expand disproportionatly. Visceral fat is directly harmful.
@Ingvaar__@reddit_lies Religions are moral preferences too. You can point to any religion, or make a new religion on the spot to fit your preferences. Religion has no moral grounding, because there is no such thing.
@LeonardiLo22192@ZackStrength Insulin resistance is primarily driven by lipotoxicity. But dietary fats do cause transient post meal resistance and impaired vascular perfusion, especially palmitic acid common in animal fat.
@gentlegossip@oxidativestate "Complete protein" is a made up concept. As long as you are getting sufficient of the least available essential amino acid proportions are irrelevant its just math.
@LeonardiLo22192@ZackStrength From first principles glycation is primarily endogenous, not by dietary sugars, lower protein, carbohydrate rich diets improve insulin sensitivity, lower IGF1, improve FGF21, autophagy, come with flavonoids, improve sleep.
@MattZirwas These are confounding varibles. If something is harmful in isolation it's always harmful in isolation. If you consume a tiny amount of plutonium but you gain a billion dollars, statistically your health might improve but that doesn't make microdosing plutonium safe.
@urethradestroy@johann_bjorn That is true regardless of your diet. More than half of the world population only exists due to synthetic fertilizers, plus most people wouldnt know how to hunt animals.
@zeeemedia I haven't seen any evidence or data of this mechanism, so until there is data i don't see why you would have this belief. At that point you have no basis for reality, you can just believe anything you want: there is a gnome under your bed, or that the world is ran by dogs.
@JochenGladbhuaf@tmtorquatus@marclou Fructose and alcohols only gets converted into triglycerides if you overfeed. It doesn't matter if you eat at maintainance. Thus how bad it is depends on your overall energy balance.
@raykeatard@lachiemx@exfatloss The difference is that sugar also has to opportunity to be used for immediate energy. Depending on your metabolic flexibilty and insulin sensitivity, eating excess sugar first leads to excess output, before reaching DNL. Dietary fat doesn't work the same way (unless in keto)
@hotazgirl1 @ChrisMasterjohn It's not helping that he is not eating anything digestible by humans. Just a bunch of leaves, flowers and seeds. Eating like a carterpillar. Need more energy, sugar, starch, protein.
